Matty Healy<\/strong><\/a> allegedly got his band, The 1975<\/a>, booted from a festival after taking a stand against the Malaysian government mid-show.<\/p>\n \u201cAlright, we got to go, we just got banned from Kuala Lumpur,\u201d Healy, 34, told concertgoers at the Good Vibes Festival on Friday, July 21, via a fan video shared on social media<\/a>. \u201cSee ya later.\u201d<\/p>\n The 1975 proceeded to grab their instruments and leave the stage after seemingly being kicked out of the venue. The sudden end to their set came moments after Healy went on a rant about the Malaysian government\u2019s discrimination toward the LGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m f\u2014king furious,\u201d Healy told the crowd per Far Out<\/em><\/a> magazine. \u201cThat\u2019s not fair on you because you aren\u2019t representative of your government. It\u2019s f\u2014king ridiculous to tell people what they can do.\u201d<\/p>\n The musician revealed that the band almost backed out of the festival over its disagreement with the politics in Malaysia. \u201cI pulled the show yesterday, and we had a conversation, and we said, \u2018We can\u2019t let the kids down because they\u2019re not the government,\u2019\u201d Healy explained.<\/p>\n He continued to slam the country\u2019s leaders, saying, \u201cIf you wanna bring me here, then f\u2014k off. I\u2019ll take your money, you can ban me, but I\u2019ve done this before, and it doesn\u2019t feel good.\u201d<\/p>\n Healy capped off his speech by sharing a passionate kiss with bandmate Ross MacDonald<\/strong><\/a>, which received a loud cheer from the crowd. The group played one more track, \u201cI Couldn\u2019t Be More In Love,\u201d before claiming they were no longer welcome at the event.<\/p>\n The Good Vibes Festival isn\u2019t the only time Healy has turned heads with his comments<\/a>. In February, Healy came under fire for mocking Ice Spice<\/strong><\/a> during an appearance on \u201cThe Adam Friedland Show.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI just feel a bit bad, and I\u2019m kind of a bit sorry if I\u2019ve offended you,\u201d he said on stage later that month. \u201cIce Spice, I\u2019m sorry<\/a>. It\u2019s not because I\u2019m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued. It\u2019s because I don\u2019t want Ice Spice to think I\u2019m a d\u2014k. I love you, Ice Spice.
