Pamela Anderson<\/strong><\/a> is ready to set the record straight after the release of Hulu\u2019s Pam & Tommy<\/em>, a source exclusively shares in the newest issue of Us Weekly<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Hulu series played a huge role in Pam deciding to share her story<\/a>,\u201d the insider explains. \u201cShe hated how sensationalized the story was and wanted to be able to tell hers from the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n Netflix revealed via Twitter in March 2022 that it would be teaming up with the Baywatch<\/em> star, 55, for Pamela, a Love Story \u2014<\/em>\u00a0a documentary that aims to \u201cset the record straight\u201d about Anderson\u2019s life as she \u201clooks back on her professional path and her personal journey.\u201d The film is set to premiere on Tuesday, January 31.<\/p>\n The former Playboy model, for her part, shared a handwritten note alongside the announcement at the time, detailing her reasons for participating in the project. \u201cMy life, a thousand imperfections, a million misperceptions,\u201d she wrote. \u201cWicked, wild and lost, nothing to live up to. I can only surprise you. Not a victim, but a survivor \u2014 alive to tell her real story.\u201d<\/p>\n The insider tells Us<\/em> that after the February 2022 release of Pam & Tommy<\/em>, which starred Lily James<\/strong><\/a> and Sebastian Stan<\/strong><\/a> as Anderson and ex-husband Tommy Lee<\/strong><\/a>, respectively, the Barb Wire<\/em> star decided she \u201cdidn\u2019t want to consult with someone writing her life for her,\u201d adding, \u201cShe wanted to start fresh.\u201d<\/p>\n In the first trailer for the documentary, which dropped on Tuesday, January 10, Anderson openly addressed her and Lee\u2019s famous sex tape scandal, noting how Pam & Tommy<\/em><\/a> brought back memories of the difficult experience.<\/p>\n \u201cI blocked that stolen tape out of my life in order to survive,\u201d the\u00a0Home Improvement<\/em>\u00a0alum said in the clip. \u201cNow that it\u2019s all coming up again, I\u2019m feeling sick. I wanna take control of the narrative for the first time.\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cI put myself in crazy situations<\/a> and I survived them.
