He only learned this only in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI learned as an adult that there was quite a list,\u201d Collin shared. He does not know who filed the complaints to try to protect him and possibly his siblings as well.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cA lot of the people saw,\u201d he said. \u201cNeighbors and teachers and so many saw that something was off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collin lamented: \u201cEven with some adults that did choose to speak up, a lot of it was brushed under the rug because of the status that my mom held and the reputation in our town.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cMany people just turned a blind eye because they didn\u2019t want to be the person that ruined America\u2019s favorite reality show.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DZsX1Gfkd5X\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fame-made-it-easier-not-harder-for-kate\">Fame made it easier, not harder, for Kate<\/h2>\n<p>Collin also accused TLC \u2014 or, at least, the production company \u2014 of, at best, turning a blind eye to Kate\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey constantly covered her, and any dirt on her was just brushed away,\u201d he alleged.<\/p>\n<p>We should note that people have been saying this since <em>Jon &amp; Kate Plus 8<\/em> was airing. Additionally, this is not the first TLC series where similar allegations of ignoring child-abuse have come up. Our laws, courts, and law enforcement prioritize \u201cparental rights.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Even when they do not explicitly allow certain forms of abuse, they\u2019re all too likely to send a child home to a house of horrors and sentence the parent to anger management classes \u2014 if that.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re rooting for Collin. At the very least, we hope that his book \u2014 which is out now \u2014 sells well. Success is the best revenge.
