Janelle Brown<\/strong><\/a> peeled back the curtain on her and ex-husband Kody Brown<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s relationship faults while thinking about dating on the latest episode of Sister Wives<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think Kody and I ever really had a solid identity as a couple,\u201d Janelle, 57, shared during the Sunday, October 11, episode of the TLC series. \u201cHe and I were always very much thinking about the family<\/a>. We thought about the whole.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle \u2014 who welcomed six children<\/a> with Kody, 57, during their 30-year relationship \u2014 confessed that as a couple they didn\u2019t put themselves first.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJanelle Brown revealed when she knew she couldn\u2019t stay married to Kody Brown during the newest Sister Wives: Talk Back episode. \u201cHonestly, for me, it really came down to the kids,\u201d Janelle, 54, said during part 1 of the TLC special, which aired on Friday, December 22, while rewatching the season 18 premiere. After a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t spend enough time thinking about my relationship with him one-on-one,\u201d she recalled. \u201cIt was just sort of a given. It was just going to happen. It was just going to be there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking back, Janelle said, \u201cI realize now that maybe we should have probably taken some time for that. But ultimately at the end, I just sort of became apathetic. Like, I just didn\u2019t care.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle married Kody in a spiritual ceremony in 1993, becoming his second wife, following his legal union with Meri Brown<\/strong><\/a> in 1990. Christine Brown<\/strong><\/a> joined the plural family in 1994, and in 2010, Robyn Brown<\/strong><\/a> rounded out the group. Kody later divorced Meri, 55, so he could legally marry Robyn, 48, in 2014 and adopt her three children from a prior marriage.<\/p>\n

During their marriage, Kody and Janelle welcomed sons Logan, 32, Hunter, 29, the late Garrison and Gabriel, 25, and daughters Maddie, 30, and Savanah, 21<\/a>. Their son Garrison died<\/a> in March 2024 at the age of 25.<\/p>\n

Janelle and Kody, meanwhile, had called it quits in December 2022<\/a> just shy of their 30-year anniversary, which would\u2019ve been in January 2023. (Christine, 54, left Kody in November 2021, while Meri, 55, announced her split from him in January 2023.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the biggest thing for me started when he really started to be hard on my children,\u201d Janelle said on Sunday\u2019s episode when asked about the end of her relationship with Kody. \u201cWanting them to conform to his opinion, wanting them to act a certain way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle remembered having a lightbulb moment around the time of the coronavirus pandemic<\/a> when Kody began enforcing strict rules for his children in order to make an appearance at their mom\u2019s respective homes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s when all of a sudden I\u2019m like, \u2018OK, I don\u2019t know if I can do this anymore,\u2019\u201d Janelle confessed. \u201cIt was a burden to stay married.\u201d<\/p>\n
