The Real Housewives of Atlanta<\/em><\/a> stars NeNe Leakes<\/strong><\/a> and Phaedra Parks<\/strong><\/a> are opening up about their ongoing contact with their former costar Kim Zolciak<\/strong><\/a> after her son, Kroy Jagger \u201cKJ\u201d Biermann Jr.<\/strong>, was accused of felony sexual battery and sodomy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe talked. We texted, maybe right when it happened,\u201d Leakes, 58, exclusively told Us<\/em> on Saturday, October 10, while celebrating National prEP Day at The Abbey in West Hollywood. \u201cRight when it happened, we texted, and I text her because I\u2019m a mom. She\u2019s a mom. And I know the parent always get it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cBut sometimes, as parents, we\u2019re trying to prevent these kids from doing certain things, and they would just do it anyway. And I just wanted to reach out to her and just say, \u2018Hang in there.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Us<\/em> confirmed on Monday, October 5, that Zolciak\u2018s 15-year-old son pleaded not guilty<\/a> to seven felony charges, including sexual battery and sodomy. Biermann was arrested in August for his role in an alleged incident with an unidentified minor female at a local gym. He was subsequently indicted on charges of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and three counts of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tNeNe Leakes is standing up for fellow Housewife Kim Zolciak amid her teenage son Kroy \u201cKJ\u201d Biermann Jr.\u2019s arrest on allegations of sexual assault and sex with a minor female relative. \u201cEverybody parents differently,\u201d Leakes, 58, told TMZ on Tuesday, September 15. \u201cAs a mom, I\u2019m just sure she\u2019s not OK. We\u2019ve texted together, that\u2019s [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Following the arrest, investigators discovered footage on Biermann\u2019s phone that allegedly showed him and an unidentified family member under the age of 12<\/a> engaging in sexual activity, according to Deputy District Attorney Caitlin McGillicuddy<\/strong>. Prosecutors also allegedly found evidence of \u201cmultiple encounters\u201d where Biermann used \u201cpredatory [and] derogatory\u201d language toward the victim. Biermann has not publicly addressed the latest accusations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling. He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged,\u201d Zolciak, 48, said in a statement to Us<\/em><\/a> after her son\u2019s arrest. \u201cMy son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed. Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zolciak, who shares KJ and his siblings Kash, Kaia and Kane with her estranged husband Kroy Biermann<\/strong><\/a>, continued at the time, \u201cFalse accusations can have devastating consequences not only for the person being accused, but also for genuine survivors of sexual assault and abuse. Every legitimate allegation deserves to be taken seriously and investigated based on the facts and evidence. At the same time, no one should be publicly condemned based solely on an accusation. We remain confident that the facts and evidence will establish the truth, and we ask that people allow the proper process to take its course rather than spreading unproven allegations.\u201d (Zolciak is also mom to Brielle Biermann<\/strong><\/a> and Ariana Biermann<\/strong><\/a>, who Kroy later adopted.)<\/p>\n
