This week, two jackasses who deserved to get punched got punched. First, we have a woman named Ayla Clayton, who got punched after starting some drama over garbage cans. Clayton spent weeks filming and harassing her neighbor for placing her garbage cans too close to Clayton’s property line, though the neighbor had been placing them in the correct spot. Clayton’s younger sister also trespassed onto the neighor’s property and threw around her patio furniture. When Clayton went up to her neighbor’s door to confront her, she, in her own words, “got her ass beat.” She posted video of the incident, then quickly deleted it once people started praising the neighbor for punching her. North Carolina police arrested Clayton for misdemeanor assault (for throwing a punch at her neighbor) and stalking. No word on charges for the sister, yet.

Next up is Morgan Kaleb, a mommy vlogger who kept touching her adolescent son after he repeatedly asked her not to — as she was driving their car. He finally lightly punched her in the arm and grabbed her wrist to stop her. His face looks mortified as he does it, too. The internet has largely sided with the boy, criticizing his mother for disrespecting his boundaries, sticking a camera in his face, and generally being obnoxious as hell.

How much would you pay for your hair? A hair stylist named India Bridges posted a video about charging a client $1,000 for a weave. The client, Brooke, also posted about her experience getting the weave. Bridges ended up refunding her, and Brooke donated $500 of it to charity. The refund might have something to do with the fact that the stylist revealed the client’s full name and credit card number online, too.

Two influencers, Clarke People and Halley Kate Williams, posted their luxurious New York City apartments, to much controversy.
Halley Kate posted her spacious, two-level apartment that costs $22,000 a month. She decorated it with some…interesting choices.

Clarke’s costs a modest $10,000 a month. She became popular on TikTok for documenting her life in college, working a job, and preparing for law school. She left it to be an influencer full-time, which, hey, I guess it’s working.

The egregious price tags have drawn ire from many viewers, since, you know, a lot of people can’t even buy gasoline right now. This prompted a conversation on TikTok about how not everyone is struggling; that there are plenty of people who are rich who can purchase luxury goods if they want.

Whew, chile, the religious psychosis.

Content creator Brooke Eby, 37, has passed away from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS. She was just 33 years old when she received her diagnosis. Eby documented her struggles with the disease for her social media accounts, connecting with hundreds of thousands of viewers worldwide.

Ash Dykes, that guy who is kayaking the Sangha River through the Congo Basin, finally started. His journey was delayed after the Cameroonian airport lost his luggage. Then, it was delayed because he didn’t have the right paperwork to reclaim it. Then, it was delayed because he didn’t have the right visa for ground travel. Then, it was delayed because a massive tree fell in the middle of his path and they had to bushwhack around it. I think the universe might have been trying to tell him something.
Dykes’ disregard for the region’s history of colonization has not gone unnoticed, especially by social media users from Congo, Cameroon and Central African Republic.

Cameroon, from which Dykes embarked, is in the midst of a violent civil conflict known as the Anglophone War. It developed as a result of Cameroon’s colonization by England and France. Cameroon’s Francophone government cracked down violently on protests by Anglophone citizens, sparking a years-long, bloody conflict that has killed thousands of people and displaced tends of thousands. Dykes, an English-speaking British guy from Wales, plopped himself right into a region of Cameroon controlled by Francophones who are widely hostile to Anglophones.

Dykes has repeatedly used the phrase “the heart of darkness” to describe his voyage. Interesting, because I don’t think he realizes that the phrase refers to European colonizers’ ignorant, morally corrupt greed in pursuit of glory and riches in Africa. But hey, TikTok has been made a bunch of funny memes out of this, if nothing else. He claims that he has broken five world records so far.

Oh my god.
