Kristoffer Polaha<\/strong><\/a> is beloved for his Hallmark Channel movies and he also has some other projects being released this year, including the new Angel Studios movie The Space Between Us<\/em>. <\/p>\n

In a new interview, the 49-year-old actor opened up about his relationship with God and why he gravitates to faith-based projects like this one. <\/p>\n

“Last year we snuck off to the state of Washington to film this beauty of a film about love and marriage and what happens when we take our eye off the prize and then what it takes to win it back. At first this movie is like a Hallmark rom-com, but you find yourself rooting for the wrong couple, then suddenly the film turns and it\u2019s an explosion of God\u2019s love and shows us what it looks like to fight for a marriage and your family,” Kristoffer <\/strong>wrote on Instagram<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Kristoffer<\/strong> talked about the film in a new interview. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re faith films, but they\u2019re closer to real life, where it gets messy,\u201d he told EntertainmentNow<\/a>. \u201cYou know, there aren\u2019t true bad guys, and there aren\u2019t true good guys. This film is full-on for the faith audience, and it\u2019s beautiful. I watched it and was really taken aback by how delicately woven the story is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kristoffer<\/strong> chatted about his own faith. <\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I just I know in my own life, I\u2019m not perfect and have sinned,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd if I didn\u2019t know a loving God who loved me in spite of that, then I would never have been the prodigal son who\u2019d have to come back home. My story is one of wandering in the desert and going out and having to learn and figure things out. I literally went around the world and studied world religions because I wanted to understand. Shintoism. Buddhism. I wasn\u2019t just gonna assume the mantle of my upbringing. I was like, \u2018No, if I\u2019m gonna believe in a God, I want to know<\/em> this God.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Kristoffer<\/strong> added, \u201cAnd God, man, he met me and I can\u2019t deny it. So, for me personally, that conversation is gritty, and it\u2019s real. And I want to reflect that in this work.\u201d<\/p>\n
