There\u2019s some threads of it at the beginning of the season [and] you\u2019ll start to see us delving into some really serious things,\u201d Martin-Green exclusively told Us Weekly about what is still [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cWe didn\u2019t have to wait the entire hiatus,\u201d she noted. \u201cWhen I say a hot second, I literally mean a couple of days.\u201d<\/p>\n
While Brian is on the mend, the Friday, October 9, episode of the hit CBS show hinted at his internal battle with PTSD. Martin-Green teased how that would come into play as Lena attempts to support her boyfriend.<\/a><\/p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s great because here you have these two people who \u2014 what a history they have with each other. They go from being partners for so long to then being in a romantic relationship to now climbing back to life together,\u201d she noted. \u201cThey both went through these near death experiences days apart from each other and so what we find out is that over the course of the hiatus, Lena and Brian had a hiatus from work as well because they had to get better. They had to go to rehab. They were able to be a support system for each other in a brand new way.\u201d<\/p>\n
This will continue to be explored throughout season 2.<\/p>\n
\u201cComing out of that is what makes what comes that much more hurtful and that much more challenging because they\u2019ve seen each other at their worst,\u201d she continued. \u201cThey saw each other at an even worse time than ever before. Their relationship was forged because of that and the trust deepened because of that. So now if something comes in that would seem to betray that trust, it\u2019s going to be that much more painful.\u201d<\/p>\n
