While Jeff Probst<\/strong> <\/a>might doubt whether Rob Rausch<\/strong><\/a> can handle Survivor<\/em><\/a>, he played the most calculated game of The Traitors<\/em> <\/a>yet, which is why he\u2019s one of Us<\/em>\u2019 Reality Stars of the Year honorees.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was surprised at how heavy it really felt and how much my emotions really were starting to affect my gameplay,\u201d he exclusively tells Us<\/em> about his time on The Traitor<\/em>s. \u201cAt first, it\u2019s fun. I\u2019m a Traitor. I\u2019m lying, I\u2019m cheating. But you\u2019re there for three weeks, and by the end of it, it\u2019s like, \u2018Man, I really like these people.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Rausch\u2019s gameplay was cutthroat, from voting out fellow Traitors to flipping the script on anyone who questioned him and deceiving his closest allies, Eric Nam<\/strong> and Maura Higgins<\/strong><\/a>. Fans couldn\u2019t get enough \u2014 but it wasn\u2019t easy on him, especially the nail-biting finale.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t all good feelings at first. The initial feeling was bad because I just told Maura [and] she had just left, and I just felt bad. I was like, \u2018Oh my gosh!\u2019 And I had just gotten Eric out of the game; I just saw his face, he was so upset, and I was just like, \u2018Dang! Like this is brutal,\u2019\u201d Rausch, 28, explains. \u201cIt was a flood of emotions for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

With his blue eyes, signature overalls and handsome grin, Rausch charmed a castle full of Traitors. He finished as the sole winner of season 4 and walked away with $220,800 \u2014 although he did use some of the prize money to buy Love Island UK<\/em> alum Higgins a Birkin bag<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rausch is no stranger to reality TV.<\/p>\n

He appeared on Love Island USA<\/em><\/a> in 2024 before competing on The Traitors<\/em>. But one reality TV show you might never see him on is Survivor<\/em>, despite his interest in the competition series.<\/p>\n

\u201cJeff Probst, he said that I couldn\u2019t do it. He said I couldn\u2019t be on the show,\u201d Rausch tells Us<\/em>. \u201cI\u2019m really not sure what happened, but I just heard somewhere [or] I ran into someone, and they said, \u2018Yeah, I saw Jeff Probst talking in an interview, and he said that you couldn\u2019t be on the show.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Well, that\u2019s crazy. OK, well, I guess I can\u2019t do Survivor.\u2019<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Probst, 64, gave his honest reaction when asked about fans\u2019 requests to cast Rausch on the next season of Survivor<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Here at Us Weekly, we\u2019re 100 percent faithful to the only game show that pits Housewives against \u201cgamers\u201d and actual Olympians, with hosting duties carried out by the ever-glamorous Alan Cumming (who\u2019s won four Emmys for his trouble). [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYou know, Rob Rausch has got a good committee, a good PR team out here,\u201d the host told Virtual Realitea<\/a> in March. \u201cAll I know is \u2014 he\u2019s kind of like a, \u2018maybe I\u2019d do Survivor.\u2019 I just want to say to Rob: it\u2019s gonna take a little more than just casual interest to do our show.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Probst called Rausch a \u201cvery compelling guy,\u201d he explained, \u201cWe just try to look at everything and step back and say, how does it fit? Does it fit this season? What does it bring?\u2026 The Traitors is bringing up some really interesting people and the gameplay is revealing some really compelling people.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then teased a crossover, but not the kind that fans were hoping for.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho knows? There may be a future collaboration,\u201d Probst added. \u201cRob on Survivor and then Alan [Cumming] and I will host together. I don\u2019t know, maybe that happens!\u201d<\/p>\n

For now, Rausch is basking in his victory and gearing up to cheer on his Love Island<\/em> costar JaNa Craig<\/strong> when she appears on the next season of The Traitors<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s gonna win,\u201d he says of Craig, 29, adding she has the skill set to play either side.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s very kind, but she\u2019s really good at keeping track of people and keeping tabs on people, and I think she would be an asset to the Faithfuls. Just you know, taking note on people\u2019s actions and just keeping people accountable. That\u2019s something that she\u2019s really good at is just noticing behavior, and I think that\u2019s massive for the Faithfuls. But also could be useful as a Traitor too,\u201d he tells Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n
