Ben Affleck <\/b><\/a>is breaking down viral discourse about his Gone Girl <\/i><\/a>shower scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wore no prosthesis,\u201d Affleck, 54, told Variety<\/i><\/span><\/a> <\/i>in a profile published Wednesday, October 7, when asked about his full-frontal scene in the 2014 thriller. \u201cI\u2019ve only worn one in one film, Hollywoodland<\/i>. It was a nose.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sans prosthetic, Affleck starred as Nick Dunne in Gone Girl <\/i>opposite Rosamund Pike <\/b>as his wife, Amy Dunne. <\/b>The film, adapted from Gillian Flynn<\/b>\u2019s novel of the same name, follows Nick after he becomes the prime suspect following Amy\u2019s shocking and high-profile disappearance.<\/p>\n

Amid the onscreen drama, Affleck stripped down for a steamy shower scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cDirector David [Fincher]<\/b> said to me from the beginning, \u2018This is a warts and all movie. It can have no vanity. You have to see the naked underbelly of this character,\u2019\u201d the actor recalled to MTV in 2014<\/span><\/a>. \u201c[He told me], \u2018It\u2019s gotta be like in Europe, they just don\u2019t give a s*** about any of that stuff and they just play real people.\u2019 There is some brief, very brief nudity, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

Teasing the nude scene, Affleck revealed at the time that \u201cthe penis is in\u201d the scene.<\/p>\n
