John Cena<\/a> believes his charity work would suffer if he had children.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
John Cena doesn’t want children<\/p>\n
The Matchbox: The Movie actor has always spoken openly about the fact he doesn’t want to start a family, and he’s explained that if he and wife Shay Shariatzadeh did have kids, they would take him away from his other commitments.<\/p>\n
Noting that from 2002 to 2015 he was only home \u201cabout 15 days a year and even now it\u2019s maybe 70\u201d, he added to The Guardian newspaper: \u201cIf I said yes to children, I have to say no to everything else.\u201d<\/p>\n
And referring to the fact he has granted more than 650 Make-A-Wish wishes for the charity, he added: \u201cI really enjoy my life.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I have a family of my own, I don\u2019t have those 650 moments \u2026 I\u2019m flying with just my partner on this one.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe WWE ambassador married Shay in 2020 after a year of dating and he couldn’t be happier with their relationship.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI have a loving connection that people don\u2019t see. I don\u2019t need the world to totally know me as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe 47-year-old star previously admitted he and Shay have had “open conversations” about raising a family but ultimately found themselves to be “on the same page”.<\/p>\n
\nJohn began the “uncomfortable” discussions very early in their relationship.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking on the Club Shay Shay podcast, he said: “I opened with a few uncomfortable conversations.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThose were first or second date questions with my now-wife. It\u2019s great because we both got to lean into these uncomfortable moments, address this stuff and build a foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAnd as a result of the intense chats so early in their romance, “nothing is off the table” between the couple.<\/p>\n
\nJohn said: \u201cNothing is too uncomfortable to be unapproachable. Starting off with a conversation about \u2026 what is the definition of our family \u2026 helped us forge a path together as a team.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Blockers actor admitted in 2022 he didn’t feel “qualified” to be a parent and doesn’t have the “passion” for fatherhood.<\/p>\n
\nAppearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, he said when the host declared he’d be the “world’s greatest father” because of his philanthropic efforts and his temperament: \u201cI think just because you might be good at something, for me, is not a strong enough reason to do that.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cYou have to have a passion for it. You have to have a fuel for it.\u201d<\/p>\n
