Kody Brown<\/strong><\/a> walked away from Sister Wives<\/em><\/a> ahead of season 21, but he is still haunting his ex-wives amid drama over the sale of their land.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like the apology tour was in the end something he was trying to redeem himself with,\u201d Janelle Brown<\/strong><\/a> said of Kody, 57, during the Sunday, October 4, premiere of the hit TLC series<\/a>. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t think it was necessarily that sincere because there\u2019s been no contact since. And he very publicly [torpedoed] my character afterwards. \u2026 So I \u2014 f*** him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle, 57, noted that Kody\u2019s claims during the season 20 reunion<\/a> \u2014 which aired in January \u2014 particularly that she wanted to do a \u201cbackdoor deal\u201d with him and cut out Meri Brown<\/strong><\/a> in their Coyote Pass sale, were totally untrue.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a parting gift because Kody and Robyn [Brown]<\/strong><\/a> aren\u2019t filming with us anymore, he felt like he should make up this story that I had somehow tried to go behind Meri\u2019s back,\u201d Janelle told former sister wife and close friend Christine Brown<\/strong><\/a> during the premiere.<\/p>\n

Janelle pointed to the timing, saying, \u201cMonths after the deal is closed he starts talking about how I was doing a backdoor deal with him. \u2026 It was not true.\u201d (Coyote Pass sold for $1.5 million<\/a> in April 2025.)<\/p>\n

During Sunday\u2019s episode Meri, 55, confessed that she didn\u2019t \u201cknow all the details\u201d but was under the impression that Janelle and Kody had allegedly spoken about wanting to sell the land in Arizona without her consent and just give her \u201chowever much they felt like I was owed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although she was unsure who was telling the truth, Meri told her friends that Kody and his wife, Robyn, 47, were \u201cnot willing\u201d to have a discussion, which was a red flag. (TLC confirmed in September that Robyn and Kody didn\u2019t return for the new season<\/a> after 16 years. The exit comes after Kody\u2019s divorces<\/a> from his first three wives in 2021, 2022 and 2023, respectively.)<\/p>\n

\u201cShe and I are not best friends. We don\u2019t have full trust. There might be things that she holds back,\u201d Meri admitted to the cameras when discussing her relationship with Janelle.<\/p>\n

Janelle, meanwhile, claimed she\u2019s \u201calways tried to be very fair and very transparent in my business dealings,\u201d pointing to Kody as the problem.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis accusation not only felt very personal, like, a final F-you<\/a> as he was leaving,\u201d Janelle confessed. \u201cBut everyone is believing him and Meri\u2019s even like, \u2018I don\u2019t know.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018What the hell?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

When Janelle and Meri finally met in person to discuss the controversy, they were clearly on different pages.<\/p>\n

\u201cKody\u2019s stirring the pot, even after the fact. I\u2019m like, \u2018Leave it alone,\u2019\u201d Janelle told Meri. \u201cBut he just can\u2019t help himself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meri explained that Kody accused Janelle of bringing up the idea to sell Coyote Pass without her knowledge and she denied the allegation.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had all these things about, \u2018Maybe I\u2019ll just sell and I\u2019ll hold some money in reserve for Meri in reserve so when she basically does what I want her to do, I\u2019ll give her the money,\u2019\u201d Janelle claimed. \u201cThere was so much threatening<\/a>. \u2026 I\u2019m still kinda stunned, Meri.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle insisted Kody was \u201csuggesting this from the beginning\u201d and he did it so he could have the \u201cpower.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meri was hesitant to believe Janelle, asking why she didn\u2019t tell her about it then.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was more like he was saying one-off to me<\/a>,\u201d Janelle alleged. \u201cIt was making little veil threats. It got really way more complicated than it needed to be and I don\u2019t know why.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meri confessed, \u201cI don\u2019t understand any of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle doubled down, saying, \u201cI was not trying to cut you out of the deal,\u201d insisting she never tried to ice out Meri in any way.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s done. Aren\u2019t you glad it\u2019s done?\u201d Janelle asked.<\/p>\n

Meri was still unclear about what transpired, admitting she had \u201cso many questions,\u201d but let it go. \u201cI appreciate you,\u201d she told Janelle.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not taking a side with Janelle or Kody and Robyn, because to be honest with you, every single one of us in humanity will tell our stories to make us look better,\u201d Meri told the cameras after the conversation.<\/p>\n
