Jeremy Strong <\/b><\/a>is too busy \u201ccommitting\u201d to pay any attention to criticism over his method acting process.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just there to commit utterly to serving the material,\u201d Strong, 47, told The New Yorker<\/i><\/span><\/a> <\/i>in an interview published Friday, October 2, addressing claims some of his costars have grown frustrated with his art. \u201cIf some people feel that I\u2019m taking it too seriously, or it changes the molecules in the room in a way that makes something uncomfortable, I guess that\u2019s something that I don\u2019t feel that I need to apologize for.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI believe \u2014 and I think the directors that I work with all believe \u2014 that it\u2019s in service of the material<\/a>. I personally think that a lot of the reactions to it are of a personal nature.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strong is one of many actors who prefer to stay in character<\/span><\/a> after cameras stop rolling as a way to create an authentic onscreen portrayal. While Strong\u2019s colleagues might raise their eyebrows over his approach, he stressed to The New Yorker<\/i> that he would \u201cnever\u201d get in the way of their own performances.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is never my intention to interfere with anyone else\u2019s experience or anyone else\u2019s way of working,\u201d the Social Reckoning <\/i>actor stated. \u201cFirst, do no harm, right? But commit to what you\u2019re doing, and utterly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strong famously employed a method acting approach to play Kendall Roy<\/span><\/a> in HBO\u2019s Succession<\/i>, which ran for four seasons from 2018 to 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think you\u2019re like a detective, and you\u2019re just looking for clues,\u201d he recalled of his process for getting into character. \u201cSo you read everything. Each time it\u2019s different. You really kind of start from nothing every time.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Succession <\/i>was loosely based on the Murdoch family, Strong didn\u2019t wish to reach out to the real-life media moguls for inspiration.<\/p>\n
