Jennifer Aniston<\/a>, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer reportedly turned down a request to be involved.<\/p>\nA source told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: \u201cThey were reached out to and decided not to participate.<\/p>\n
\u201cUltimately, the series gives a voice to other friends and colleagues in his life who have memory and love from Matthew.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jennifer, 57, in particular is said to have struggled with the idea of expressing her grief in public.<\/p>\n
\nA second source said: \u201cThere\u2019s no way Jen would ever do something like that. She isn\u2019t going to sit down and start crying on camera. She doesn\u2019t want to relive it and have it be so public.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMia previously explained why she has decided to speak out for the first time in The One About Matthew Perry.<\/p>\n
\nShe told Tudum: \u201cIt\u2019s taken time for me to feel ready to share these memories and what it was like to love Matthew through all the complexity of his life – to see him as a whole person, not just as Chandler, and not just as someone who struggled with addiction.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAs his sister, he shaped who I am today, the person I strive to be, and the work to which I\u2019ve devoted my life.<\/p>\n
\n“Matthew had a beautiful heart and a generous spirit, and even in his darkest moments, he could still make you laugh and feel loved.<\/p>\n
\n“I hope this series gives everyone who loved him, whether personally or from afar, a deeper appreciation for who he truly was, and the legacy he leaves behind.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe documentary is directed by Mary Robertson and promises to take a deep dive into Matthew’s life.<\/p>\n
\nFilmmaker Mary hailed the late Friends icon as “one of the comedic geniuses of our time”.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: “Through his many films, TV, and stage performances, and his unforgettable portrayal of Chandler Bing, he made millions of us laugh, connect, and feel a little less alone.<\/p>\n
\n“He also gave us so much more by bravely speaking about addiction. Yet the public only knew part of his story.<\/p>\n
\n“That\u2019s why we set out to make this series: to let the people who knew and loved Matthew reveal the person behind the public figure.”<\/p>\n
