Sisters Katie<\/strong> and Charlotte Schultz<\/strong> found it difficult to watch back their metro mishap in Madrid that led to their elimination on The Amazing Race<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was really, really hard to watch,\u201d Charlotte, 20, exclusively told Us<\/em> on Friday, October 2. \u201cLeaving the tomatoes [road block], we were both so frantic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlotte added that she and Katie, 26, \u201cweren\u2019t that far behind\u201d Jody Rebhun<\/strong> and Jenn Naso in the race, but being towards the back of the pack added pressure.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mindset of being in last, like the panic really set in, and we weren\u2019t prepared for that,\u201d she continued. \u201cWe were just so excited to be going anywhere. We were like, \u2018Just get us on the metro, going in some direction.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

During the Thursday, October 1, episode, Katie and Charlotte made a colossal navigation error. The racers<\/a> were tasked with getting to Puerta del Sol via the metro. However, the train also had a Puerta del Sur stop in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n

Multiple teams initially made the same mistake as Katie and Charlotte, but the sisters didn\u2019t catch their error until it was too late. Katie and Charlotte ended up being \u201cclose to an hour\u201d behind the other teams.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems like a lot of other teams made that mistake a little bit, but then on the metro they were like, \u2018Let\u2019s double check,\u2019 and they made that smart move and double checked and came back,\u201d Charlotte explained. \u201cWe did not. We got on the metro, and we were just so stressed. We were just like zoned out. It was terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Katie added, \u201cIt looks like a lot of teams got lost a decent amount in Madrid, whether it was on the metro or on the roads. It was a really hard city to navigate, especially if you don\u2019t speak Spanish. So that made us feel better. I mean, it doesn\u2019t really help that much, but it\u2019s a little better.\u201d<\/p>\n

At one point in the show, Charlotte asked Katie if Puerta del Sur and Puerta del Sol were the same thing, but neither one of them double-checked their clue due to exhaustion.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter being in last and seeing every single other person leave, my whole brain left,\u201d Katie told Us. \u201cThere was not a thought in my head. I don\u2019t even remember any of those conversations happening. And then we got home after being eliminated. Charlotte\u2019s like, \u2018Yeah, I think I mentioned that,\u2019 and I was like, \u2018Yep, I don\u2019t remember that at all.\u2019 I knew that was gonna get aired. I was like, \u2018I know that\u2019s gonna hurt to watch.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
