Joy Behar was forced to pull out of The View on Thursday (01.10.26) after suffering a painful on-set injury.<\/p>\n

The View’s Joy Behar<\/p>\n

The 83-year-old host dislocated her shoulder after she “caught a heel backstage” the day before on the ABC daytime talk show.<\/p>\n

Her representative told the New York Post’s Page Six: “Joy caught a heel backstage but is on the mend and should be back on the show mid next week.<\/p>\n

“Her shoulder wasn\u2019t broken and is back in place, and she is excited to be back at the table as quickly as possible.”<\/p>\n

Presenter Sunny Hostin, 57, explained Joy and 70-year-old moderator Whoopi Goldberg<\/a>‘s absences at the start of Thursday’s edition of The View.<\/p>\n

\nShe said: “So, Whoopi is still out filming a movie, and, unfortunately, our dear friend Joy dislocated her shoulder.”<\/p>\n

\nAfter the audience gasped, Sunny went on: “Yeah, so she\u2019s recovering and will be back soon.”<\/p>\n

\nReferring to Joy and Whoopi being The View’s most senior hosts, she quipped: “So, the two OGs are out today. So, apparently, the job went to the next-oldest, or let’s say, seasoned co-host. I like seasoned better.”<\/p>\n

\nSunny was joined on the panel by Sara Haines, 49, Ana Navarro, 54, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, 37, as well as 59-year-old guest host Sherri Shepherd, who quit The View in 2014 after seven years.<\/p>\n

\nSunny added: “So, it’s a good thing that Sherri Shepherd is back to guest host.”<\/p>\n

\nSherri commented: “That’s what I love about The View family. No matter if we’ve never worked together, it’s still a sisterhood. If you leave, you’re still my sisters. We talk and have a good time. Even off air. I’m glad to be back.”<\/p>\n

\nAlyssa said: “This is a squad right here. I like this.”<\/p>\n

\nLast November, Joy, who has been on The View since the programme began in 1997, took time off from the show after she dropped an iPad on her foot and broke her toe.<\/p>\n

\nIn June, the star took a planned fortnight off from The View as she jetted out to London to perform her play, My First Ex-Husband.<\/p>\n

\nJoy said: “There\u2019s been a lot of media attention on me lately because I\u2019m taking off the next two weeks.<\/p>\n

\n“They\u2019re calling it a hiatus. It\u2019s not a hiatus.”<\/p>\n

\nShe insisted the trip was for “work”.<\/p>\n
