Tate McRae has launched a new venture<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old pop star has created TATE 01 in partnership with Scent Beauty, Inc., and Tate feels proud to be venturing outside of the music business.<\/p>\n
Tate told People: “I\u2019ve always wanted to venture off into creating my own business at some point in my life.”<\/p>\n
The Greedy hitmaker learned to strike a “specific balance” while creating the new fragrance.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
She shared: “I\u2019ve never gravitated towards florals before, but the balance of the woodiness and this ingredient called iso, which enhances your own pheromones, together was something that I just kept going back to and spraying on myself every day \u2014 and then getting compliments from other people.”<\/p>\n
\nTate also admitted to feeling inspired by the supermodels of the 90s.<\/p>\n
\nThe pop star said: “I think a lot of the references were [that] \u2014 and keeping that youth within the perfume, but then it has the warm woody sandalwood side that I feel is what I usually gravitate towards.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Tate previously admitted that she’s found fame to be “scary and overwhelming” at times.<\/p>\n
\nThe singer has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years, but Tate still struggles with the pressures of fame and success.<\/p>\n
\nAsked if she’s ever felt misunderstood by the public, Tate told Billboard: “So many different ways. <\/p>\n
\n“As a woman, you just have to understand that you\u2019re constantly going to be under a microscope, and sometimes that\u2019s a really scary and overwhelming feeling. But on the optimistic side of that, with scrutiny and opinions and people\u2019s perceptions of you, it just leads to a lot of growth and doubling down on who you are.<\/p>\n
\n“I could say that people\u2019s comments don\u2019t affect me, but of course they do. I\u2019m a girl. I have emotions and feelings and insecurities. It sucks to have people commenting on your body or commenting on who you are or having perceptions that are completely off.<\/p>\n
\n“But for me, I\u2019m just here to make art. Trying to explain yourself is a game that I can never win.”<\/p>\n
