Jennifer Lawrence<\/strong><\/a> is teaming up with one of the most exciting directors out there right now. <\/p>\n

The Oscar-winning actress is set to star in horror master Zach Cregger<\/strong><\/a>‘s upcoming movie The Flood<\/em><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The movie is being billed as an “orignal sci-fi thriller” written by Cregger<\/strong>, based on his own idea, and he will be directing the film as well. <\/p>\n

The Flood<\/em> is being made by the studio behind Weapons<\/em><\/h3>\n

Warner Bros., the studio behind Zach<\/strong>‘s hit movie Weapons<\/em>, will be producing the upcoming film and he thanked the studio’s heads Mike De Luca <\/strong>and Pam Abdy<\/strong> in a statement. <\/p>\n

\u201cMike<\/strong>, Pam <\/strong>and the whole Warner Bros.\/New Line team were an absolute dream to collaborate with on Weapons<\/em>, and I couldn\u2019t be happier to dive in with them again. Jennifer <\/strong>is one of a kind, and I\u2019m beyond excited to see her in this role,\u201d Zach <\/strong>said. <\/p>\n

The movie will go into production in early 2027 in Europe.<\/p>\n

What is The Flood <\/em>about?<\/h3>\n

TheWrap<\/a> confirms that “plot details are being kept secret for this film,” so it will probably be a while until we know anything. <\/p>\n

Warner Bros chiefs De Luca<\/strong> and Abdy <\/strong>said, \u201cJennifer Lawrence<\/strong> is one of the most gifted and compelling actors working today, and we are thrilled to have her at the center of Zach<\/strong>\u2019s bold and wholly original vision for The Flood<\/em>. Following our extraordinary experience together on Weapons<\/em>, we could not be more excited to reunite with Zach<\/strong> and the team at Vertigo, as well as Amblin to bring this ambitious film to audiences around the world.”<\/p>\n

The movie will be released on August 11, 2028.<\/p>\n

In 2022, Zach <\/strong>made his feature film solo directing debut with the horror film Barbarian<\/em>. His movie Weapons <\/em>was released in 2025 and then he directed this year’s Resident Evil<\/em>. <\/p>\n

Zach<\/strong> is one of the most well-reviewed directors of today. Barbarian <\/em>has a 92% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, Weapons <\/em>has a 93%, and Resident Evil <\/em>has a 96%. He also produced Companion<\/em>, which has a 93%. <\/p>\n

Zach <\/strong>recently opened up about casting his real-life wife<\/a> in an upcoming movie. <\/p>\n
