Good Morning America<\/em>.<\/p>\nThe 34-year-old was quick to reassure viewers \u201cright off the top\u201d that he\u2019s okay now.<\/p>\n
But it sounds like he spent the summer aggressively battling the disease to reach this point.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe diagnosis was a shock and the treatments were a slog,\u201d he acknowledged. <\/p>\n
\u201cToday, though, I am relieved to announce that we arrived at our destination and this cancer is in the rearview mirror,\u201d Reeve affirmed. \u201cBut what a journey.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn January of this year, he married Amanda Dubin.<\/p>\n
Just four months into their happily ever after, he explained, he discovered \u201ca hard, tender lump in my left testicle.\u201d<\/p>\n
He very wisely, and \u201cat Amanda\u2019s urging,\u201d went in for an ultrasound.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe imagines confirmed the unimaginable,\u201d Reeve admitted.<\/p>\n
Doctors discovered that he \u201chad a mass that had to come out.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nUnfortunately, treatment had to be more aggressive than he\u2019d hoped<\/h2>\n
In May, Will Reeve underwent an orchiectomy \u2014 the removal of the testicle in question.<\/p>\n
What he believed to have been a \u201cmomentary frightening detour\u201d turned out to be something bigger and scarier.<\/p>\n
Reeve received a diagnosis of embryonal carcinoma, an aggressive form of testicular cancer that required further medical care.<\/p>\n
His next surgery involved the removal of dozens of lymph nodes from his abdomen. Aggressive cancers can often spread using these ducts.<\/p>\n
Reeve made the \u201cnecessary choice,\u201d in his words, to undergo chemotherapy to further cut down his chances of cancer returning. He had numerous side-effects, but avoided losing his hair thanks to a cold-capping method.<\/p>\n\n\n
