A cause of death has not been disclosed.<\/p>\n
And while Haskins may have spent years pretending to be exasperated by Zack Morris and the rest of the Bayside High crew, his agent says the actor was every bit as warm away from the cameras.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was a great person, and he loved, I mean absolutely LOVED his fans,\u201d Schachter said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe always had time for them, no matter what. He was my client and dear friend for over 20 years, and I will miss him terribly.\u201d<\/p>\n
That affection from fans makes plenty of sense.<\/p>\n
Haskins became a familiar face to an entire generation when he portrayed Principal Belding, the perpetually frustrated administrator tasked with keeping Bayside\u2019s famously chaotic teenagers under control.<\/p>\n
\nBelding was often forced to storm into whatever latest scheme the students had cooked up while delivering his instantly recognizable catchphrase:<\/p>\n
\u201cHey, hey, hey, what is going on here?\u201d<\/p>\n
Few television catchphrases that can transport millions of Gen X and millinnial TV fans quite so quickly back to the 1990s.<\/p>\n
Haskins first took on the role in Good Morning, Miss Bliss<\/em> before continuing as Belding when the series became Saved by the Bell<\/em>. He remained associated with the character for more than a decade, later reprising the role in Saved by the Bell: The College Years<\/em> and Saved by the Bell: The New Class<\/em>.<\/p>\nHis career continued well beyond Bayside, with appearances in shows and movies including The West Wing<\/em>, 7th Heaven, It\u2019s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, New Girl<\/em>, Mad Men<\/em>, and A Million Ways to Die in the West<\/em>.<\/p>\nBut for millions of fans, he will always be Mr. Belding.<\/p>\n
And now, unfortunately, that familiar \u201cHey, hey, hey\u201d is part of television history.<\/p>\n
