Katherine LaNasa<\/strong><\/a> promises plenty of heat from charge nurse Dana Evans and Dr. Michael \u201cRobby\u201d Robinavitch when season 3 of The Pitt<\/em><\/a> returns.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, it\u2019s up and down,\u201d LaNasa, 59, exclusively told Us<\/em> of her character\u2019s dynamic with Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle<\/strong><\/a>) on the upcoming season while attending the Rape Treatment Center and Stuart House at UCLA Health\u2019s annual brunch on Sunday, September 27.<\/p>\n

She teased that even with Robby\u2019s three-month break from the ER, he and Dana won\u2019t skip a beat when they are reunited.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s deep love there, and then they can just really give it to each other,\u201d LaNasa said with a laugh.<\/p>\n

Fans of The Pitt<\/em> have been hooked on Dana and Robby\u2019s connection<\/a> since the series premiere in 2025, especially their ability to go toe-to-toe while working in the stressful Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center (PTMC) emergency room.<\/p>\n

While the duo often butt heads \u2014 and have experienced their fair share of tense interactions \u2014 their connection is undeniable.<\/p>\n

Following Robby\u2019s decision to leave the hospital and take a sabbatical<\/a> at the end of season 2, many viewers worried season 3 wouldn\u2019t have the same push and pull they expect from the doctor and Dana.<\/p>\n

Luckily, Wyle\u2019s character will be back in full force for the new season and that includes pushing Dana\u2019s buttons in a way only he can. (The season will pick up approximately four months after the events of season 2.)<\/p>\n

LaNasa, meanwhile, teased that season 3 will also stay true to The Pitt<\/em>\u2019s signature style<\/a> of pulling back the curtain on hot-button topics.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe always explore important issues that don\u2019t always get addressed on The Pitt<\/em>,\u201d she confirmed. \u201cYou know, it\u2019s an important issue kind of a show.\u201d<\/p>\n

LaNasa pointed to season 2\u2019s impactful story line<\/a> about a rape victim who comes into the ER and everything they go through from a medical standpoint.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile addressing the criticism surrounding multiple women of color leaving The Pitt, creator R. Scott Gemmill referred to it as \u201cjust a coincidence.\u201d Gemmill weighed in on the backlash after the season 2 finale on Thursday, April 16, showed Supriya Ganesh\u2018s character, Dr. Samira Mohan, for the last time. Gemmill defended the decision to write [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThere were so many women that came up to me on the street, and also people that worked in media, they would be interviewing me about the upcoming season and say, \u2018I just have to say, that episode meant so much to me,\u2019\u201d the actress recalled<\/a>. \u201cI think it means a lot to a lot of women that have experienced sexual assault, and also, as we took it through the season, shining the light on the fact that a lot of rape kits aren\u2019t being processed.\u201d<\/p>\n

LaNasa noted that like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit<\/em><\/a> star Mariska Hargitay<\/strong><\/a> has done with her long-running show, The Pitt<\/em> is trying to give the victims a voice.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of us in the media working with organizations like the Rape Treatment Center to help change things for women and help victims of sexual assault,\u201d she shared, pointing to the event she attended on Sunday at Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

While LaNasa played coy about which topics will be covered on upcoming episodes of The Pitt<\/em>, she told Us<\/em> that there won\u2019t be a baby Jane Doe update as a follow-up from season 2. (In one episode, the staff came together to help find an infant abandoned in a hospital bathroom the right home.)<\/p>\n
