The Modern Family<\/em> actress, 56, opened up about her new boyfriend, but is keeping his identity private for the time being. <\/p>\n

Julie<\/strong> opened up to People<\/a><\/em> while attending Step Up\u2019s 2026 Annual Inspiration Awards in Los Angeles over the weekend. <\/p>\n

\u201cI have a lovely friend,\u201d she said, describing him as “smart and funny.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI need smart and funny. Those are the two [characteristics I look for in a partner],” Julie<\/strong> added. \u201cI don\u2019t care what people look like \u2014 though he happens to be good-looking. But I don\u2019t care what people look like. I like the brains.\u201d<\/p>\n
