Tom Holland<\/b><\/a>\u2019s Fred Astaire biopic has found its Ginger Rogers in pop star Sabrina Carpenter<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n

News broke on Friday, September 25, that Carpenter, 27, will star opposite Holland, 30, in the yet-to-be titled film, where Margaret Qualley <\/b>will also appear as Fred\u2019s sister, Adele Astaire.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am thrilled and honored to have been entrusted with telling the story of Fred Astaire and his original dance partner \u2014 his big sister Adele \u2014 to the big screen,\u201d director Paul King <\/b>told Variety<\/i><\/span><\/a> in a statement. \u201cFred left a timeless legacy of dance on film \u2014 most famously in his collaborations with Ginger Rogers \u2014 while Adele\u2019s work has been lost to history; indeed, no footage of her dancing survives.\u201d<\/p>\n

King continued, \u201cThe cinematic challenge of bringing to life these icons<\/a> of the twentieth century is one that I could not imagine without Tom Holland, Margaret Qualley and Sabrina Carpenter by my side.\u201d<\/p>\n

Further details about the highly anticipated film, inspired by the renowned dancer who died in 1987, have not been announced at the time of publication. Holland, for his part, has already expressed his excitement to lace up his dancing shoes<\/a> \u2014 again. (The Odyssey <\/i>actor famously got his big break playing the titular role in Billy Elliot the Musical <\/i>on London\u2019s West End.)<\/p>\n
