Keke Palmer loves the challenges of motherhood<\/p>\n
The 33-year-old star has Leo, three, with her ex-partner Darius Jackson, and Keke has now opened up about her experiences of motherhood.<\/p>\n
Speaking to People, Keke explained: “He is using big words. He learned how to say tarantula \u2014 come on now! That\u2019s a big word, \u2018tarantula’. He said destination.<\/p>\n
“He\u2019s talking, talking, talking, talking, talking. He\u2019s learning real things.”<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Keke explained that Leo copies some of her specific expressions.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I take him to the arcade and we\u2019ll be playing the Jurassic Park game, and he loves when I narrate it, but sometimes I go too far. We\u2019re playing, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh my gosh, go under. You\u2019re not going to get my son,\u2019 and then he says, \u2018You\u2019re not going to get my son.'”<\/p>\n
\nKeke then confessed to being “territorial” as a mother.<\/p>\n
\nThe Hollywood star shared: “I\u2019m so territorial as a mom, so Leo hears me often say, \u2018Not my son,\u2019 so he\u2019s attached the emotion of \u2018son\u2019 to someone that you love so much. So my niece, his cousin, when my sister yells at her, he\u2019ll go over to my sister and say, \u2018Don\u2019t talk to my son like that.\u2019<\/p>\n
\n“It\u2019s the cutest thing ever. And he\u2019s like, \u2018That\u2019s my son.\u2019 It\u2019s like he\u2019s acting like me about him, but it\u2019s like his \u2018son.\u2019”<\/p>\n
\nKeke wants her son to know that “happiness is his to take”.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress wants Leo to recognise that he “can always become someone new”.<\/p>\n
\nAsked what she hopes Leo learns from her, Keke previously told Extra: “Just to never be afraid to evolve.<\/p>\n
\n“I think we get so caught up in our storylines, and even when they\u2019re tough, we have a hard time getting out of them, but you can always shape-shift. You can always become someone new and let your happiness, let your joy and your peace, be that guiding force.<\/p>\n
\n“I want him to know that happiness is his to take, but we got to take it, you know?”<\/p>\n
