Lili Reinhart ‘traumatised’ by Riverdale experience<\/p>\n
\nThe 30-year-old actress starred as Betty Cooper on the teen TV drama, from the pilot in 2017 to the final episode in 2023. <\/p>\n
\nHowever, in an interview on the In Your Dreams podcast, Lili admitted the lasting effect of being on the show means she has few memories of the experience. <\/p>\n
\nShe mused: \u201cI don\u2019t really remember. Because it was kind of traumatic.\u201d<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\nLili continued to attempt to explain: \u201cThere\u2019s this thing that happens, where it happens very quickly if you\u2019re on a show like that. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt rises into pop culture and a lot\u2019s happening at once. It\u2019s so weird. I\u2019m very thankful that TikTok wasn\u2019t a thing when this was happening for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDespite clarifying that she \u201cloves\u201d the social media app, and spends hour a day surfing the videos on there, Lili blamed it for making \u201cthings bigger\u201d than they\u2019d be without TikTok. <\/p>\n
\nShe mused: \u201cI think had\u00a0Riverdale\u00a0been any bigger than it was, it would have been too much for all of us. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat\u2019s why I have really a lot of just empathy and compassion for the young people in their 20s who are on shows now that are blasted all over TikTok, because it\u2019s just really amplified more than it ever has been.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cNobody deserves that many people commenting on your existence. It\u2019s just too much.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDue to her Riverdale role, Lili often finds herself called \u201cBetty\u201d by people when she\u2019s out and about, which she \u201csometimes would love to not be called\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nBut the screen star always keeps in mind that it\u2019s \u201ccoming from love\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cThat\u2019s just inherently what most people know me for, but I have the rest of my career to keep doing things and it doesn\u2019t like inhibit me in any way.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLili concluded by insisting that she feels \u201cprivileged\u201d to have starred in Riverdale – as it\u2019s \u201cso impactful to people or pop culture that they carry that association through the rest of your career\u201d.<\/p>\n
