Miranda Kerr<\/a> went through “a little bit of” depression after splitting from Orlando Bloom.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Miranda Kerr had a tough time after her divorce<\/p>\n
The 43-year-old model – who has son Flynn, 15, with the Lord of the Rings actor – separated from the 49-year-old star in October 2013 after three years of marriage and she recalled how it was such a “challenging” time for her that she lost her natural joy.<\/p>\n
Speaking on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show, she reflected: \u201cObviously my public divorce, separation with Orlando, that was something that was another challenging time.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter we separated, I went through a little bit of like, depression.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd it was so odd for me because I\u2019m a naturally joyful person. And like my mother would call me Giggly Gertrude. Like that was my name, my nickname as a kid because it was always very joyful and giggly.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Kora Organics founder believes splitting from Orlando was the right thing to do and she’s proud of how they have stayed close for the sake of their son.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cGoing through\u2026 the thought of being with someone and then having your life together and then that not being the case is something, you know, it was very challenging for me, but I knew that it was the right decision and we remained super friendly and close throughout it all and have put the needs of Flynn first before our own needs. And I feel like we\u2019ve done really well at that.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe can hopefully encourage other people to do the same and to put the children first and not your own hurt.”<\/p>\n
\nMeditation and yoga helped Miranda – who went on to marry Evan Spiegel and have sons Hart, eight, Myles, six, and two-year-old Pierre with him – process her complicated feelings about her divorce.<\/p>\n
\nShe explained: “This is a decision that we both mutually agreed was good for us. I understand logistically, but my body isn\u2019t catching up to my mind that understands, right?<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo there was some kind of disconnect that was happening and I and I just felt like I wasn\u2019t the best version of myself.<\/p>\n
\n“I felt like my body had to move through the waves of feelings that would come up out of nowhere and it was processing and it was really just me giving myself the time to process and instead of trying to fix it like automatically, it was time to feel the feelings.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt was time to forgive and release. It was time to be patient with myself and not feel like I had to have it all together and had to have it all perfect because I didn\u2019t.”<\/p>\n
\nAnd being “truthful” with herself also helped.<\/p>\n
\nMiranda explained: “Saying you know what, this is hard and I\u2019m having a hard time and I don\u2019t really know the way out, but I\u2019m just going to take it day by day and try.\u201d<\/p>\n
