According to <strong>Bono<\/strong>, the collaboration began after he approached her about participating in a separate project inspired by Irish folk music. Upon hearing some ideas over the phone, she told <strong>Bono<\/strong> \u201cthat\u2019s a little too Irish for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dolly <\/strong>ultimately suggested another song she had called \u201cTorn,\u201d which<strong> Bono<\/strong> and <strong>Snow Patrol<\/strong> musician <strong>Johnny McDaid<\/strong> then reworked with her. The finished track was co-written by <strong>U2<\/strong>, <strong>Dolly <\/strong>and <strong>Johnny<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>U2<\/strong> describes \u201cTorn\u201d as a country song centered on broken family relationships. <strong>Daniel Lanois<\/strong> plays pedal steel on the recording. <strong>Dolly<\/strong> was also able to hear and approve the finished mix before her passing.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When Will Dolly Parton\u2019s Final Recording Be Released?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTorn\u201d will appear as the final song on <strong>U2<\/strong>\u2018s new album <em>Carnaval De Luz<\/em>, which will be released on November 13, 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The album marks <strong>U2<\/strong>\u2018s first full studio album of new material in nine years and arrives during the band\u2019s 50th anniversary year.
