It is unclear whether he has obtained an attorney.<\/p>\n<p>According to court documents, an officer was called to the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus after receiving a report about a suspicious person.<\/p>\n<p>The officer allegedly found Jamar sleeping shirtless near a fountain.<\/p>\n<p>When officers woke him and asked what he was doing on campus, Jamar allegedly said he was waiting for someone to arrive and sell him \u201cice,\u201d which the documents identify as another term for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n<p>The situation escalated after officers allegedly discovered that Jamar had an outstanding warrant.<\/p>\n<p>According to the court documents, Jamar then ran from police and eventually ended up at a nearby hospital.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DdkmNgljZyN\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>It was there, authorities allege, that Jamar struck an officer with an open-handed palm strike.<\/p>\n<p>Police also allegedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in Jamar\u2019s possession.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time that the Drummond family has encountered legal issues. Daughter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2019\/06\/paige-drummond-daughter-of-pioneer-woman-arrested-for-public-int\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paige Drummond was arrested for public intoxication<\/a> in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>For Ree, this is undoubtedly a difficult development involving someone she has publicly described as an important member of her family.<\/p>\n<p>Ree and her husband, Ladd Drummond, welcomed Jamar into their family as a foster son in 2018, after he became close with their sons through football.<\/p>\n<p>Ree eventually opened up about Jamar publicly, explaining that the family initially wanted to give him privacy while he adjusted to his new home.<\/p>\n<p>By 2020, however, she said Jamar had become an \u201cinextricable part\u201d of the family.<\/p>\n<p>Ree has also shared loving tributes to Jamar on social media over the years, including a 2023 birthday post in which she wrote about her hopes for his future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t wait to watch his future unfold,\u201d she wrote at the time. \u201cI know it will be filled with good things.
