Noah Kahan<\/strong><\/a> is officially entering the world of The Hunger Games<\/em><\/strong><\/a>!<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old singer-songwriter has been confirmed as the artist behind \u201cDraw You Out,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> the lead single from the upcoming The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping<\/em><\/strong><\/a> soundtrack.<\/p>\n

The song will officially be released on October 2<\/strong>, but Noah<\/strong> has already shared a portion of the lyrics with fans, and now he\u2019s revealing the heartbreaking inspiration behind the track.<\/p>\n

What Is Noah Kahan\u2019s \u201cDraw You Out\u201d About?<\/h3>\n

According to a press release from MCA, Noah<\/strong> wrote \u201cDraw You Out\u201d specifically for and inspired by The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He reunited with Grammy-winning producer Aaron Dessner<\/strong><\/a>, who co-wrote and co-produced the track with him.<\/p>\n

Following the song\u2019s announcement, Noah<\/strong> confirmed that Haymitch Abernathy and Lenore Dove Baird were the inspiration behind the song.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is something I\u2019ve always wanted to do and I am so grateful for the opportunity to write for this moving film, having adored the works of art by Suzanne Collins<\/strong>,\u201d he wrote on social media.<\/a><\/p>\n

Noah<\/strong> explained that he was \u201ctotally connected and inspired by the tragic yet hopeful story of Haymitch and Lenore Dove,\u201d adding that he wrote about the \u201cpurpose, grief and perseverance through pain that they exemplify.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lyrics that Noah<\/strong> has already teased make even more sense with that context.<\/p>\n

The song finds him singing about carrying someone\u2019s memory with him, returning to places associated with that person and finding comfort in continuing to say their name.<\/p>\n

How Do the Lyrics Connect to Haymitch & Lenore Dove?<\/h3>\n

In Suzanne Collins<\/strong>\u2018 novel, Lenore Dove is Haymitch\u2019s girlfriend in District 12 when he is selected to compete in the 50th Hunger Games.<\/p>\n

Without getting too deep into the book\u2019s ending, loss and remembrance become central parts of Haymitch\u2019s story.<\/p>\n

Knowing that Noah <\/strong>specifically drew inspiration from Haymitch and Lenore makes the song\u2019s themes of carrying someone with you and continuing to speak their name particularly poignant.<\/p>\n

Noah Kahan Previously Teased the Song<\/h3>\n

Fans actually had reason to suspect Noah <\/strong>was involved in the soundtrack before Thursday\u2019s (September 24) official announcement.<\/p>\n

He previously shared lyrics from the then-unannounced song on social media, including the phrase \u201cI draw you out,\u201d which later appeared as a title on the soundtrack\u2019s initially artist-free tracklist.<\/p>\n

He also teased a snippet of the track on social media before his involvement was confirmed. In another major clue, Noah<\/strong> captioned one of his teasers \u201cLadybug, fly away home,\u201d a phrase that appears in Sunrise on the Reaping<\/em>.<\/p>\n

At the 2026 Emmy Awards, Noah<\/strong> hinted that he\u2019d recently gotten the opportunity to work on music for a movie, but joked that he couldn\u2019t reveal what it was without getting in trouble with his publicist.<\/p>\n
