Tinashe won’t date a broke man<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old singer has previously dated men with money troubles – but Tinashe<\/a> insists it won’t happen again.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Tinashe<\/a> explained: “Girl, I\u2019m not going to lie. There was a couple times I was taking cash out of the ATM. I was like, \u2018Here you go.’<\/p>\n

“I was p*****, too. And I was like, \u2018I\u2019m never doing this again.\u2019 That\u2019s why I wrote a song about it. Don\u2019t do it again.”<\/p>\n

Tinashe<\/a> is currently preparing to release Popstar, her eighth studio album, and she feels the record reflects her real-life self.<\/p>\n

\nShe said: “I wanted to put out a body of work that represented all of the things that make me, me.<\/p>\n

\n“I don\u2019t subscribe to like one particular sound, one particular genre. I\u2019ve made records on this project that feel like dance records, like hip-hop records, like pop records, like RnB records. And I think they all, to me, fall under this umbrella of popstar.”<\/p>\n

\nMeanwhile, Tinashe previously admitted that she “didn’t feel supported” as a young musician.<\/p>\n

\nThe singer has been on a “rollercoaster” ride since signing her first-ever record deal and over time, she’s learned that she needs to “do it on [her] own”.<\/p>\n

\nShe told Face to Face with Becky G: “The next seven years after I signed that record deal, I went through a rollercoaster of success and then periods of stagnation.<\/p>\n

\n“Periods where I wanted to release a project and maybe my label wasn’t on the same page and we had big creative differences.”<\/p>\n

\nTinashe actually lost confidence in herself at one stage, as she lacked support from people within the industry.<\/p>\n

\nShe said: “I didn’t feel supported in my art and that’s when I really felt that I started to lose that confidence myself as a creative, because I felt that I had to make compromises to work in this business model.”<\/p>\n

\nTinashe started to compromise bits of herself amid her self-doubts.<\/p>\n

\nShe explained: “When you’re working with a company and there’s so many people that you have to please, you start to make these little tiny compromises here and there.”<\/p>\n
