Gary ‘Angry’ Anderson dies aged 79<\/p>\n
\nThe Rose Tattoo frontman passed away on Monday (21.09.26), his family revealed in a post on Instagram.<\/p>\n
\nThey wrote: \u201cIt is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gary “Angry” Anderson on the eve of Monday, 21 September 2026 surrounded by his loved ones here in Australia.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAngry was a devoted father, and much-loved member of his friends, bandmates and the wider music and entertainment community.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHis loss will be deeply felt by all those who knew and loved him both here in Australia and overseas.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe statement continued to ask fans to give Angry\u2019s family and bandmates \u201cprivacy at this difficult time\u201d, and added that they \u201cwill not be giving interviews\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nIt concluded: \u201cWe kindly ask that their wishes are respected as they come to terms with this devastating loss and take the time they need to grieve.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe thank everyone for their prayers and messages of love and continued support.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWith love, The Anderson family and Rose Tattoo Band. Stay young, grow strong.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nNews of Angry\u2019s passing comes after the band announced they would be ending their European tour early after he suffered a cardiac arrest. <\/p>\n
\nThey had been scheduled to return to Australian stages this month, as well as signing up to join Suzi Quatro on her Red Hot Summer Tour, which kicks off in November.<\/p>\n
\nRose Tattoo are most famous for tracks including Bad Boy for Love and We Can\u2019t Be Beaten, and release their last album Outlaws in 2020. <\/p>\n
\nThey were also inducted into Australia\u2019s ARIA Hall of Fame in 2006.<\/p>\n
\nPreviously speaking to Sheldon And about celebrating 50 years of Rock Tattoo, Angry mused: \u201cThere\u2019s a voice inside you that says you need the freedom of the road\u2026even at 77.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI still say that on stage every night\u2026it\u2019s f****** great being a singer in this band\u2026regrets, I have but a few, but too few to mention. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt has been a fabulous ride. It still is.\u201d<\/p>\n
