Niall Horan<\/a> remembered his late bandmate Liam Payne by playing a recording of his voice at his concert on Tuesday night (22.09.26). <\/p>\n <\/p>\n

Liam passed away in Argentina in October 2024 after falling from his hotel balcony – with Niall seeing him just days before. <\/p>\n
And the One Direction star\u2019s passing is still having a huge impact on his former bandmates, as Niall proved during the opening night of his\u00a0Dinner Party Live on Tour in Birmingham, England. <\/p>\n
The audio played after Niall finished performing his track End of an Era – written in memory of Liam – and featured the late singer saying in an interview: \u201cWe thought something might happen but never anything like this.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\u201cI always try to remind myself of where I\u2019ve come from and where I\u2019ve managed to get to in my life. It\u2019s amazing, really.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAs the recording played, the stage lights darkened and showed Niall looked solemn, standing with his hands on his hips as he looked out into the crowd in an apparent moment of reflection.<\/p>\n
\nIt\u2019s not the first time Niall has paid tribute to Liam. <\/p>\n
\nFollowing the singer\u2019s tragic death, Niall took to Instagram and wrote: \u201cI\u2019m absolutely devastated about the passing of my amazing friend, Liam. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt just doesn\u2019t feel real. Liam had an energy for life and a passion for work that was infectious. He was the brightest in every room and always made everyone feel happy and secure. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cAll the laughs we had over the years, sometimes about the simplest of things, keep coming in mind through the sadness. We got to live out our wildest dreams together and I will cherish every moment we had forever. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe bond and friendship we had doesn\u2019t happen often in a lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nNiall also said that he\u2019ll always be grateful that his final memory of Liam is a \u201chappy\u201d one. <\/p>\n
\nHe told the Sunday Times’ Culture magazine: “I\u2019m glad of that, it means my last memory of him was happy. “It still feels surreal. On day one I was, like, \u2018Nah, it didn\u2019t happen.\u2019 <\/p>\n
\n\u201cOur friendship was a bond that was there for ever even if we hadn\u2019t seen each other for a while and it\u2019s wild that one day, like the flick of a switch, he\u2019s gone.\u201d<\/p>\n
