Meghan McCain<\/strong><\/a> is changing her tune about being parodied on Saturday Night Live<\/em>. <\/p>\n

The 41-year-old daughter of late Senator John McCain<\/strong> was portrayed by Aidy Bryant<\/strong><\/a> three times on the late night sketch show over the years during parodies of The View<\/em>. <\/p>\n

During a recent episode of her Citizen McCain<\/a><\/em> podcast, Meghan<\/strong> was joined by Sarah Huckabee Sanders<\/strong><\/a> and brought up that they both were subject to being parodied on SNL<\/em>. <\/p>\n

\u201cI found her interpretation of both of us to be cruel. You see how Saturday Night Live<\/em> impersonates Democrat women compared to conservative women,” Meghan <\/strong>said about Aidy<\/strong>. “I didn\u2019t find it funny. I can laugh at myself. I didn\u2019t find her impersonation funny.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, after an April 2019 sketch on SNL<\/em>, Meghan<\/strong> had quite a different thought about being parodied on the variety show. <\/p>\n

“I\u2019m not supposed to be on twitter because of hiatus BUT this sketch is hilarious, and being parodied by @SNL is a huge pop cultural honor. – Signed, your old intern and ‘the princess of Arizona,’” she said on Twitter\/X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sarah Huckabee Sanders<\/strong> also shared her thoughts with Meghan<\/strong> about being parodied on SNL<\/em>, also by Aidy Bryant<\/strong>, noting how she thought her portrayal was “mean-spirited.”<\/p>\n

“You know, Saturday Night Live<\/em> used to be funny and now it\u2019s just mean,\u201d Sanders<\/strong> said. \u201cI remember the days of, like, actually looking forward to watching an episode of that show because it had these laugh-out-loud skits that kind of poked fun at everybody, but really brought the humorous side and were very lighthearted and enjoyable. And now it is so pointed, so political and so angry that it\u2019s not funny anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

She even said Sean Spicer<\/strong> called to check in on her after SNL<\/em> parodied her.<\/p>\n

“He\u2019ll probably be mad at me for sharing this,\u201d Sarah<\/strong> shared. \u201cSpicer<\/strong> called to check in. He\u2019s like, \u2018So, how we doing?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018You know, I\u2019m good. I wish they could have found somebody else to play me.\u2019 And he goes, \u2018Well, at least you had somebody of the correct sex.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Fair enough. You win\u2026 It was way worse for you. I\u2019ll give you that.\u2019 And so we kind of laughed at it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sean<\/strong> was previously portrayed by Melissa McCarthy<\/strong> on SNL<\/em>, while Aidy<\/strong> played Sarah<\/strong> several times during the first Trump<\/strong> administration.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Meghan<\/strong> slammed her The View<\/em> replacement<\/a>, Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/strong>, on her podcast.<\/p>\n
