The stars of the upcoming A Different World<\/strong><\/a><\/em> hit the red carpet at the series premiere on Monday (September 21)!<\/p>\n

New stars Kennedi Reece<\/strong><\/a>, Maleah Joi Moon<\/strong><\/a> and Alijah Kai<\/strong><\/a> posed together, while Debbie Allen<\/strong><\/a> and Jasmine Guy<\/strong><\/a> from the original 1980s series snapped a cute photo on the carpet at the premiere event held at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga.<\/p>\n

Also stepping out included fellow newcomers Alijah Kai<\/strong>, Cornell Young IV<\/strong>, Jordan Aaron Hall<\/strong>, Chibuikem Uche<\/strong>, Tichina Arnold<\/strong>, Raven Goodwin<\/strong>, Imani Guy Duckette<\/strong>, Uche Moxam<\/strong>, and Dasan Frazier<\/strong>, as well as returning OGs Darryl M. Bell<\/strong> and Cree Summer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What is A Different World<\/em> (2026) about?<\/h3>\n
\n

A Different World<\/em> returns to Hillman College with a new class stepping onto campus \u2014 and beloved faces coming home. At the center is Deborah Wayne (Moon<\/strong>), Whitley and Dwayne\u2019s lovingly sheltered youngest daughter, a free spirit with a flair for the spotlight and a big heart who\u2019s still figuring out her own path at Hillman.<\/p>\n

Along the way, she\u2019s joined by a new generation that reflects the breadth of Black life on campus: Rashida Duvall (Kai<\/strong>), a first?gen criminal justice major; Shaquille Johnson (Young IV<\/strong>), a five?star athlete choosing legacy; Amir Rodale (Hall<\/strong>), a sharp psych major better at fixing everyone else\u2019s problems than facing his own; Hazel Henry (Reece<\/strong>), a church?raised small?town girl defining her own values; and Kojo Achebe (Uche<\/strong>), a Ghanaian?Nigerian fashion entrepreneur finding the courage to follow his vision. Legacy favorites also return, including Whitley Gilbert (Guy<\/strong>), Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison<\/strong>), Freddie Brooks (Summer<\/strong>), and Ron Johnson (Bell<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Set against the rituals, humor, and nuances of an HBCU, A Different World is a hopeful dramedy, full of heart and unapologetically centered on the richness and complexity of the Black experience.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

When does A Different World<\/em> premiere?<\/h3>\n
