\nThe Abbott Elementary actress – who married the politician 21 years ago – insisted their relationship isn’t “perfect” but the best way to get through tough times are to “remember” what brought them together in the first place.<\/p>\n
\nShe told People magazine: \u201cListen, I literally wrote down and asked God to deliver to me what I felt I needed. Thank God I was right, and he came to me.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cNow, do not think that relationships are going to be perfect. They\u2019re not going to be perfect, but if you\u2019re lucky, you\u2019re going to get three-quarters of the way there.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd on those moments where you start to feel shaky, remember why you got married in the first place. Remember what you felt like the first time you looked at them, and move on from there.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe 69-year-old actress urged those who are currently single and looking for love to break out of their comfort zones in order to find someone new.<\/p>\n
\n Asked for advice she would give to those still looking for a relationship, she said: \u201cYou have to put yourself out there. You got to leave your house. You can\u2019t keep going to the same places, because guess what? You\u2019d keep getting the same thing.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBe different for yourself. Travel, get a passport, see the world. Don\u2019t be afraid of dinner alone in the right places.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSheryl turns 70 in December and thinks the fact she “chooses” to be happy with her husband and children is part of why she still looks good.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I really think it\u2019s the fact that I live in my joy. I choose to be happy.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m very happy to have another day above ground, and I don\u2019t take it for granted. I have the love of my children, the love of my husband.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cLife is not perfect. We have our ups and downs, but we get through it together, and I\u2019m very thankful to have that in my life.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo if people look at me and they say, \u2018Why does she look this good?\u2019 Honey, I work at it.”<\/p>\n
\nBut Sheryl also admitted good skincare and an exercise regime have helped.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cAnd you know, beauty and things have changed a lot since it was just a Dove bar. It\u2019s changed a lot since it was just Oil of Olay. It has changed a lot since it was just Fashion Fair.<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThere\u2019s a new science to beauty, but the one thing that has never changed [is to] keep it clean, keep it simple and exercise if you can, because you\u2019ve got to keep it moving. If you don\u2019t keep it moving, you will lose it.\u201d<\/p>\n
