\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Steven Kolb<\/strong><\/a> is stepping down from the Council of Fashion Designers of America<\/em>.<\/p>\n The fashion executive announced his resignation as president and CEO on Friday (September 18), days after a confrontation with PETA protestors<\/a> at a New York Fashion Week<\/em> show. He announced his resignation on his Substack, you can read the entirety of the post here<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cLeaving after twenty years is deeply emotional, but I do so proud of what we accomplished together and confident in the CFDA\u2019s future. It has been one of the great privileges of my life to serve this community,\u201d he wrote in his statement.<\/p>\n The decision comes after he went on leave following a viral video showing him getting physical with one of the protestors. The clip showed him leaving his seat and physically intervening with protestors and at one point, he held one down to the ground and placed a hand over her mouth.<\/p>\n CFDA also shared a statement in response to Kolb<\/strong>\u2018s resignation to their Instagram.<\/p>\n \u201cSteven Kolb<\/strong> has been a dedicated leader and tireless champion of American fashion throughout his more than two decades at the CFDA, including fifteen years as CEO,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n The statement continued, \u201cWe respect Steven<\/strong>\u2018s decision to step down and are grateful for his many years of leadership and service to the CFDA and our industry.
