Chelsea Handler<\/strong><\/a> is speaking out in response to comedian Salma Hindy<\/strong><\/a>‘s claims of being fired from the star’s stand-up tour over pro-Palestine remarks that she made. <\/p>\n

Salma<\/strong> took to social media this week to share her story, claiming that her relationship with Chelsea<\/strong> changed after she privately asked the comedian about her stance on Palestine. She says that Chelsea<\/strong> later shared a \u201cdisgustingly Islamophobic and dehumanizing video,” which led to Salma<\/strong> deciding to post a pro-Palestinian message on her page. <\/p>\n

Salma<\/strong> says her next shows with Chelsea <\/strong>were canceled and she claims there were issues with reimbursement for travel costs. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy manager, who was Jewish, at the time told me that Chelsea Handler is trying to get rid of me because of the Palestine thing, but she doesn\u2019t want to say it so that she doesn\u2019t incriminate herself. He told me I could go on the rest of the tour with her, but that she would never work with me ever again,” she alleged. <\/p>\n

Chelsea Handler responds to the claims<\/h3>\n

Chelsea <\/strong>left a comment on the Instagram post.<\/p>\n

\u201cAh, that\u2019s actually not what happened,\u201d she said. \u201cYou quit opening for me, and I have the emails from your agents. Your agent is full of it. I would never fire someone for disagreeing with me politically on this issue.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I never fired her. Period. Not on this issue,” she added.<\/p>\n

Chelsea <\/strong>shared a screenshot of a text message from Salma<\/strong>, who appeared to quit. Salma <\/strong>wrote, “Chelsea, something has now come up and I won’t be able to do the remaining four shows anymore [sad face]. Wanted you to hear it from me. Thank you for everything. It’s been such an experience, and you’re right it would’ve been wonderful stage time [heart].”<\/p>\n

Chelsea <\/strong>also shared screenshots of emails from years ago in which she agreed to pay for Salma<\/strong>‘s travel costs because of a change in the scheduling. <\/p>\n
