\u201cI\u2019m so happy I\u2019m here,\u201d said Blake Abbie, the editor-in-chief of A Magazine Curated By<\/em>, \u201cI have never been at a fashion show where everyone\u2019s in a good mood,\u201d quipped stylist Angelo De Santo, \u201cno one else does what she [Taymour] does.\u201d<\/p>\n After the show, and the dancing, guests were ushered atop a hill for an after party that included a functioning margarita fountain and the launch of Taymour\u2019s latest furniture collaboration with Swedish interiors label Layered. \u201cI didn\u2019t know how much I needed this,\u201d said DJ Oscar Nu\u00f1ez of the Brooklyn collective Papi Juice, who was playing an assortment of pop hits including \u201cMidnight Sun\u201d by Swedish star Zara Larsson.<\/p>\n More than 400 people attended the show, among them eager fashion students. In a way, this was her most compelling and successful world-building exercise. In the end, runway shows are not only for industry folk. They are for designers to materialize their visions for their customers, and now, for social media onlookers.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople push independent designers to do better and bigger and better,\u201d Taymour says, \u201cat least I feel that pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re growing, we\u2019re doing better, and we\u2019re aiming higher with bigger and stronger production,\u201d she says, \u201cbut when you try to take a chance, there\u2019s pushback and it\u2019s too much. But I want to keep creating moments that make people excited.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
