Brittany Snow<\/strong><\/a> shared a powerful message on her recovery years after opening up about body image issues and struggling with anorexia and exercise bulimia.<\/p>\n \u201cTW: ED,\u201d the actress, 40, began her Instagram<\/a> post discussing a sensitive subject<\/a>, telling her followers, \u201ctrigger warning: eating disorder.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cToday, September 17th, marks 17 years of recovery for me,\u201d Snow wrote on Thursday. \u201cI\u2019ve heard they call that a golden anniversary. And somehow, that feels fitting.\u201d<\/p>\n She noted that her movie Parachute<\/em>, which came out in 2023, is about the day she decided to stop \u201churting\u201d herself. \u201cThe day I chose to bet on myself, even when I couldn\u2019t yet imagine what a life on the other side might look like.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSeventeen years ago, I didn\u2019t know if I would make it. I couldn\u2019t see a future, and I certainly couldn\u2019t imagine one where I would learn to be kind to myself,\u201d Snow shared. \u201cIf someone had told me then that I would not only live, but one day have a beautiful, full life, free from the cycle of self-destruction and my eating disorder\u2026 I truly don\u2019t think I would have believed them.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to say that her friends and family helped her through the difficult time, along with a voice in her head that kept telling her, \u201cDon\u2019t give up. There is so much more to your story.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere was so much beauty ahead that I couldn\u2019t see yet. So much love,\u201d Snow wrote. \u201cAnd one of the greatest gifts of making it through is being able to turn around and share the hope I couldn\u2019t see possible.\u201d<\/p>\n Snow concluded her post by sending an encouraging message to her fans. \u201cIf you\u2019re struggling right now, please know you are not alone. So many people have stood where you are standing. There is life beyond the place you are in today, even if you can\u2019t picture it yet,\u201d she wrote. \u201cOne day, the story you fought so hard to keep living may become the very story someone else needs to hear.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m 17 years on the other side today. I\u2019m so grateful I stayed \u2728\u2728\u2728,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Snow has been candid about her eating disorder through the years. In 2025, she opened up to Self about undergoing treatments to also combat depression and self-harm.<\/p>\n \u201cI had so much disdain for my body and I couldn\u2019t see myself as a functional, beautiful being. I only saw the things that were wrong with me,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n Snow ultimately overcame her disorder<\/a> by talking to herself \u201clike a kid.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
