And a very famous mother, for that matter.<\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s the daughter of Warren Beatty and Annette Bening \u2014 and she\u2019s become the latest young star to receive criticism for being a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/09\/catherine-zeta-jones-nepo-baby-label-horrible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nepo baby<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 26-year-old actress stars as the title character in Netflix\u2019s fourth season of<em> Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story,<\/em> which premiered September 17. <\/p>\n<p>The series dramatizes the infamous 1892 case in which Borden was accused of murdering her father and stepmother before ultimately being acquitted.<\/p>\n<p>But before Ella could take on one of history\u2019s most notorious alleged killers, she had another distinction to contend with: being born into Hollywood royalty.<\/p>\n<p>Ella is the youngest child of Oscar-nominated actress Annette Bening and legendary actor Warren Beatty.<\/p>\n<p>After graduating from Juilliard in 2022, she made her professional acting debut in Murphy\u2019s <em>Feud: Capote vs. The Swans<\/em>. She made her Broadway debut in 2024\u2019s <em>Appropriate<\/em> and appeared in the 2025 film <em>If I Had Legs I\u2019d Kick You<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DdO-kErHHtL\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>Then Murphy came calling again.<\/p>\n<p>Ella landed the title role in <em>Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story<\/em>, marking her first leading television role and the first season of the anthology to center on a female figure. <\/p>\n<p>Previous seasons focused on Jeffrey Dahmer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2025\/08\/erik-menendez-denied-parole-forced-to-remain-behind-bars-for-parents-murders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Menendez brothers<\/a>, and Ed Gein.<\/p>\n<p>But while she may have climbed the ladder much more quickly than most, the role was hardly something Ella took lightly.<\/p>\n<p>She told Netflix that she immediately dove into true-crime podcasts and other material about the real-life case after auditioning (via <em><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/monster-the-lizzie-borden-story-cast-12123025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">People<\/a><\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, she recognized that the series is a fictionalized dramatization rather than a documentary.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike some nepo babies, Ella doesn\u2019t deny that she\u2019s benefited from her famous last name.
