NBC News Los Angeles has confirmed that one of its news helicopters has crashed in Chatsworth and killed three people.<\/p>\n

KNBC Channel 4 news anchor Colleen Williams<\/strong> confirmed the news via a live broadcast on Tuesday, September 15. \u201cWe knew it was a news chopper, we knew we\u2019d lost contact with our people out there and we\u2019ve just received the confirmation that, in fact, News Chopper 4 went down just before 7 o\u2019clock tonight in Chatsworth,\u201d Williams, 71, told viewers.<\/p>\n

A subsequent report published by NBC News<\/a> late on Tuesday night stated that the chopper had crashed in the suburban neighborhood \u201cwhile it was covering a bus collision Tuesday evening, killing three people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Per the report, the helicopter crashed either \u201cin a parking lot at or near a self-storage facility in the community,\u201d which is located in L.A.\u2019s Fernando Valley. The Los Angeles Fire Department attended the scene and no fatality identities were confirmed at the time of publication.<\/p>\n

In his August 2022 opening statements, Vanessa\u2019s attorney Luis Li claimed that cell phone photos from the wreckage were shared by a deputy and fire captain \u201cfor [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to take a couple of minutes to think about that, to process, and to regroup,\u201d Williams, a veteran news anchor, said on-air.<\/p>\n

In addition to the three fatalities, another person \u201cwas taken to a hospital in unknown condition,\u201d per information received from the fire department. The report also noted that \u201cat least one\u201d of the deceased people \u201cappeared to be a pedestrian on the ground\u201d when the crash occurred.<\/p>\n

NBC Los Angeles shared developments on the news via its Instagram account on Tuesday night, with one eyewitness recalling that she saw \u201csudden smoke\u201d coming from the crash.<\/p>\n

An extreme wind storm, caused by Santa Ana gusts, sparked fast-burning brush fires at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, with drivers along Sunset Boulevard and Palisades Drive abandoning their cars to seek safety, according to the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Another interviewed witness told the outlet, \u201cI happened to look over my shoulder and I saw a certain news helicopter, oddly, just coming straight down. I looked at it and I go, \u2018That\u2019s weird.\u2019 No helicopter comes down like that, and then two seconds later the smoke. It came just straight down.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first eyewitness, who was being interviewed out the front of a storage facility, then jumped in, recalling that she heard \u201ceverybody started screaming.\u201d<\/p>\n
