The 64-year-old actor embraces life to the fullest, and he has no hesitations about taking risks.<\/p>\n
Speaking to GQ magazine, Tom explained: “I think you could look at my life and go: I like standing on the edge of a cliff physically and metaphorically. Meaning, I look at life as an adventure, and I always have, my whole life. <\/p>\n
“I want to understand people. I want to understand life and cultures. We\u2019re looking at life. I wonder: Who are those people? How do they feel? Do they think the way I do? Do they laugh at the same thing? How do I connect with them? <\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
“And I didn\u2019t want to just be a tourist. I wanted to go make movies there because I also find you really get to know people when you create with them.”<\/p>\n
\nTom is conscious that different people face their own unique challenges in life. However, he believes there’s a “common ground in humanity”.<\/p>\n
\nThe Hollywood star explained: “Everyone has a different subjective reality of what they think about life, about people. And there is common ground in humanity, and I\u2019m looking for that common ground.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Ethan Hawke previously claimed that Tom has “changed what\u2019s expected for actors”.<\/p>\n
\nThe film star is well-known for performing his own stunts in the Mission: Impossible franchise, and other action movies, and Ethan believes it’s pressured other actors into following suit.<\/p>\n
\nEthan, 55 – who performed his own stunts in The Weight, the historical action-drama – told Variety: “Tom Cruise has totally changed what\u2019s expected for actors. Some part of me is getting angry over the years because everyone somehow feels like they\u2019re less if they use a stunt team.<\/p>\n
\n“What I liked about our movie is there were no ridiculous stunts. It\u2019s human. It\u2019s not about things blowing up, so most of the stunts were things we could do. They weren\u2019t superhero things.”<\/p>\n
