Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour will explore a different dynamic<\/p>\n
The 51-year-old actor is reuniting with his 22-year-old former castmate on a new project for Netflix, and while they will once again play a father-daughter duo, he wants to set the series apart from their roles on the sci-fi juggernaut.<\/p>\n
He told Variety: “She\u2019s now in her 20s.<\/p>\n
“And I think with Stranger Things, we explored a lot of teen things, and now we want to explore, like, what does it mean to father someone in their 20s who\u2019s going through all kinds of things, and he\u2019s going through all kinds of things, and what does family mean?”<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
He noted that the “father-daughter dynamic” is one the pair of them “play very well and are very interested in”.<\/p>\n
\nHowever, David insisted the series will go beyond that, particularly with Adolescence co-creator Jack Thorne on board.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: “At its core, it has an incredible propulsive engine with action and entertainment, and Jack Thorne is writing it, who is a master. And I\u2019m just so excited for us to start working.”<\/p>\n
\nThe duo’s upcoming series from A24 has been revealed as a spy drama.<\/p>\n
\nNetflix previously teased: “In the series, disgraced FBI agent turned security expert Matt Wolfe (Harbour) is drawn back into the world he left behind when his estranged daughter, Rebecca (Brown) \u2014 now an FBI agent determined to follow in his footsteps \u2014 vanishes on a mission, forcing him to return to a field that has evolved beyond him.”<\/p>\n
\nDavid and Millie were the subject of much speculation during the final season of Stranger Things, after reports she filed a harassment and bullying complaint against him ahead of production for season five. <\/p>\n
\nHe previously told Variety the report was a “weird thing” which “came out in a weird way”, and added: \u201cStraight up, Millie and I are working on several \u2026<\/p>\n
\n\u201cYou\u2019ll see more of me and Millie \u2014 10 years wasn\u2019t enough. There is a special bond there. I love her. She loves me.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nDavid insisted it is normal to get involved in “arguments and disagreements” with colleagues who have had a close working relationship for so long. <\/p>\n
\nHe added that they found it easy to resolve their differences once there were no other people involved. <\/p>\n
\nHe explained: \u201cIt\u2019s simple. It was just a simple rupture-and-repair thing that, once we cleared everybody out of the way and talked to each other, we\u2019re fine.”<\/p>\n
