The troubled blogger – whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr – is recovering under the care of doctors after self-harming in a disturbing TikTok livestream from his Miami home on August 4.<\/p>\n
In a statement on Perez\u2019s website on Monday (14.09.26), his family confirmed that he has checked in as an inpatient in \u201can important next step\u201d of his recovery, and is expected to stay there for several more weeks. <\/p>\n
As he recovers from the mental health crisis, Perez\u2019s children Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8, are being looked after by their grandmother – Perez\u2019s mother Teresita Lavandeira.<\/p>\n

The statement read: \u201cHis three children remain together, safe, and doing well in the care of their grandmother, who has stepped in to care for them full-time during this unexpected chapter. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cOur family\u2019s priority continues to be giving them as much stability, routine, and \u2018normalcy\u2019 as possible while their dad focuses on his recovery. We are incredibly grateful for everything their grandmother is doing for them.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThree children came frighteningly close to losing their father forever. There is nothing funny or entertaining about that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nPerez\u2019s family also hit back at recent reports that he\u2019s suffering from amnesia in the wake of the crisis. <\/p>\n
\nThe statement continued: \u201cTo be clear, Perez has not lost ten years of his memory, does not believe it\u2019s 2016, and is not confused about where he is. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe is lucid and communicates clearly with his family. He does not have stitches and is not covered in gauze\u2026 No family member, and no one authorised to speak on Perez\u2019s behalf, provided these false claims.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAs Perez his treated as an inpatient, he doesn\u2019t have any access to his phone or laptop. <\/p>\n
\nInstead, it\u2019s up to his friends and family to contact him, so that \u201che can focus fully on getting better\u201d.<\/p>\n
