In fact, some of the most iconic series of all time never won a single Emmy in their heyday.<\/p>\n<p>While <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/alexis-bledel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Alexis Bledel<\/strong><\/a> won Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/shows\/the-handmaids-tale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em><\/a> in 2017, neither her work on <em>Gilmore Girls<\/em> nor\u00a0costar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/lauren-graham\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Lauren Graham<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s performance were honored by the awards show. The dramedy itself never received a nod either, but makeup artist <strong>Marie DelPrete<\/strong> earned an award for Outstanding Makeup for a Series in 2004. \u201cI\u2019m definitely happy about that, that I brought them the Emmy,\u201d she told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en_us\/article\/d3gvv7\/meet-the-makeup-artist-who-won-gilmore-girls-only-emmy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Vice<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in November 2016. \u201cI don\u2019t necessarily know if they\u2019re happy it\u2019s the only Emmy they have!\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"news-block\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-form  \">\n\t<br \/>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/wp-content\/themes\/us-weekly\/assets\/img\/newsletter-bg-wide.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"newsletter-form__background background-wide\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"newsletter-signup__success\" aria-live=\"polite\">\n<h3>Thank You!<\/h3>\n<p>You have successfully subscribed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><em>The Wire<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 a critically-acclaimed HBO drama often referred to as the best television show in history \u2014 was similarly overlooked by the Emmys. Writer <strong>Ed Burns<\/strong> spoke out about the Television Academy\u2019s seeming lack of regard for the predominantly Black cast in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese guys clearly cut the mustard.
