Mackenzie Phillips<\/strong><\/a> is sharing some insight into her romantic life.<\/p>\n

The 66-year-old actress appeared on a new episode of the Getting Naked<\/em> podcast with Valerie Bertinelli<\/strong><\/a> and shared that she has been celibate for 15 years, according to People<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n

Mackenzie<\/strong> explained that she used to be very extroverted but would then feel exhausted by the end of a busy night out.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI would get home, and I would have no words left, you know, and so in order to get up and do it again the next day, I had to be alone to recharge,\u201d she shared during the episode. \u201cWhich is, by the way, why \u2014 am I going to say this out loud? I have been celibate for 15 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Once she said it out loud, Mackenzie<\/strong> continued, “nobody knows this. I’m saying this here.”<\/p>\n

She also told Valerie<\/strong> that she didn’t have to cut the revelation out of the episode.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m like, I have had enough sex to last for several lifetimes for several people,\u201d she added. \u201cAnd the parts of me that were injured or wounded, I can care for them myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

The One Day at a Time<\/em> star said she doesn’t date either.<\/p>\n

“I have my little friend in the bedside drawer,” she revealed with a laugh.<\/p>\n

Valerie<\/strong> also shared that she sometimes goes “through periods of celibacy.”<\/p>\n

She continued, “Like, I’ve been celibate for, I guess, almost two years now. It doesn’t bother me.”<\/p>\n
