Cindy Crawford has reflected on her acting career<\/p>\n
The 60-year-old model landed a handful of acting roles in the 90s, including Fair Game, the 1995 action-thriller film, and 54, the 1998 drama film, and Cindy now admits that she learned a lot from those experiences.<\/p>\n
The model said at the Forbes Power Women\u2019s Summit: “I think even the things that you try and that maybe don\u2019t succeed in the way that you hope they would, they\u2019re still learning experiences.”<\/p>\n
Cindy also revealed the quirky way that her first acting job came her way.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
She said: “As a model and you\u2019re on the cover of magazines, like all of a sudden you\u2019re getting scripts sent to you and people maybe wanna act.<\/p>\n
\n“And actually the first time I got an audition, they handed me a script and [said] \u2018Can you read this?\u2019 And I just started reading it and it was with [director] Mike Nichols, and he\u2019s like, \u2018Oh, well, you can read.\u2019 Like, he didn\u2019t say, \u2018Can you act this?\u2019 And I\u2019m a very literal person. So I was like, \u2018Oh, he meant, like, I should actually perform this. I wish he would\u2019ve said that.\u2019”<\/p>\n
\nCindy recalled being “raked over the coals” for her on-screen performances. <\/p>\n
\nThe brunette beauty ultimately realised that she’s better suited to modelling.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I realised in doing that film, I\u2019m very comfortable in front of the camera being Cindy Crawford.<\/p>\n
\n“As soon as you try to put words in my mouth that aren\u2019t me, I couldn\u2019t even believe it … for me professionally, it was like, \u2018I can shut that road.\u2019”<\/p>\n
\nCindy found quitting acting to be “freeing”.<\/p>\n
\nShe explained: “It helped me double my efforts in the things that I do like and that I can feel comfortable and I feel like I\u2019m good at.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Cindy previously revealed that she doesn’t give unsolicited advice to her children.<\/p>\n
\nThe model – who has Presley, 27, and Kaia, 25, with her husband, Rande Gerber – told the Kelly Corrigan Wonders: About Your Mother podcast: “They know if they ask me, they\u2019re going to get my real opinion. <\/p>\n
\n“But if they don\u2019t ask me \u2026 I really try hard, and I\u2019m probably about 70 percent good at this \u2026 I try not to offer unsolicited advice.”<\/p>\n
