CBS Mornings<\/em>, Stella revealed that she personally hasn\u2019t heard from a single entertainer in Nashville since her famous sister passed away.<\/p>\n\u201cI haven\u2019t had one condolence from anyone, anybody that I know, entertainers that I know. Nobody,\u201d Stella said.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s quite a statement considering Dolly\u2019s six-decade career and her enormous influence on country music.<\/p>\n
Dolly\u2019s passing prompted tributes from celebrities, politicians, and fans around the world. But Stella says the personal response from her Nashville peers has been noticeably different.<\/p>\n
Stella has a theory as to why she\u2019s been snubbed by her late sister\u2019s colleagues.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m assuming it might be because of my political, you know, activism on social media. I don\u2019t know,\u201d Stella explained.<\/p>\n
\nStella has been outspoken about her political views online, including criticism of Donald Trump. Dolly, meanwhile, famously avoided making her own political beliefs a major part of her public persona.<\/p>\n
According to Stella, that was intentional.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe had an opinion about things, but she never shared any of that,\u201d Stella said of Dolly, adding that her sister was a \u201cgood businesswoman\u201d who understood the importance of not alienating people.<\/p>\n
So while Stella isn\u2019t claiming that Dolly\u2019s political views caused the apparent silence, she clearly believes her own activism could be a factor.<\/p>\n
Of course, there has been no shortage of public tributes to Dolly<\/a>. Her death has been mourned across the entertainment industry, and her legacy continues to be celebrated.<\/p>\nStill, Stella\u2019s comments raise an uncomfortable question: If Nashville\u2019s country community had so much love for Dolly, why didn\u2019t more of them reach out privately to her grieving family?<\/p>\n
For Stella, the loss remains deeply personal.<\/p>\n
She described Dolly as the most optimistic person she had ever known and said she hopes people remember her as \u201csweet, kind, loving, talented, and brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHer creativity had no bounds,\u201d Stella said.<\/p>\n
And perhaps that\u2019s the part that matters most.<\/p>\n
Dolly Parton spent decades building a legacy that extended far beyond country music. But in the aftermath of her death, her sister is making it clear that she also remembers who showed up \u2026 and who didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n
