Brooks Nader<\/strong> <\/a>going sans top in the presence of her family caused a stir online last month.<\/p>\n

The Sports Illustrated<\/em> Swimsuit model, 29, ditched her bikini top and rocked nothing but white crochet bottoms on a boat vacation with her dad Breaux Nader,<\/strong> mom Holland Nader<\/strong> and sister Sarah Jane Nader<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After photos of the getaway<\/a>, which took place in Sardinia, Italy on August 9, went viral and stirred up a fierce debate, Brooks addressed critics who suggested it was inappropriate to be topless, particularly in front of her father.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had the time of my freaking life,\u201d Brooks said in an Entertainment Tonight<\/em> interview<\/a> posted via Instagram on Thursday, September 10. \u201cI don\u2019t care if I\u2019m not from Europe. I\u2019m from Louisiana. I grew up in an all-girl household. We\u2019re always naked together as sisters.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooks insisted that her dad had no issues with being around her when she was topless.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad\u2019s half blind, so he didn\u2019t even notice,\u201d she said. \u201cHe was like, \u2018I don\u2019t care.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has selective hearing and selective seeing,\u201d Brooks added. \u201cI was just having the time of my life and really not thinking that anyone was documenting some of it, but we love it. It\u2019s great.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, social media users had mixed opinions on her lack of attire for the family boat outing.<\/p>\n

\u201cMom and sister is one thing but the dad and brother is crazy,\u201d one person commenting on a clip shared via TMZ\u2019s TikTok account. Another added, \u201cTopless in front of her dad is strange, but I don\u2019t see an issue with mom and sisters.\u201d A third commented, \u201cBeing topless in front your family IS weird wtf are ppl talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others didn\u2019t see what the big deal was and defended Brooks stripping off while family were around. \u201cHow is this a problem? Men are topless all the time,\u201d a person commented. Another wrote, \u201cThis is very normal in a lot of countries.\u201d A third fan chimed in, \u201cIdc her choice bye.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Love Thy Nader<\/em> star has since taken the viral moment in her stride, laughing off the comments<\/a> in an Instagram Stories post shared on August 18.<\/p>\n
