Tom Cruise<\/a> in 2001 – said: \u201cI was beyond lonely. I had the pinnacle of my success, and I went home and was so lonely.<\/p>\n\u201cSo, yeah, crazy, though, that sort of the confluence of events where you go, \u2018I wish\u2026\u2019 I had my mom with me and my dad, but I was like, \u2018Where\u2019s my partner, someone that I can share this with?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was one of the most profound moments where I went, \u2018I\u2019ve got to get a life\u2019 and at the same time, I\u2019m holding this gold statue where you go, \u2018This is, this is it. \nNicole summed up how she felt at the time as “weird”.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cI\u2019d love to be able to just, you know, be wrapped in somebody\u2019s arms right now. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019d love to be around now, something that feels really, \u2018Oh, okay. This is my real life.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Practical Magic 2 actress – who has two adult kids with Tom and daughters Sunday, 18, and Faith, 15, with Keith Urban, who she was married to from 2006 until they split last year – previously recalled her reluctance to celebrate her Oscar win at the prestigious Vanity Fair afterparty.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to Dave Karger for his book 50 Oscar Nights, she said: \u201cI\u2019m not a big party girl, so I was going to skip the Vanity Fair party, and everyone was like, \u2018You\u2019ve got to go. You\u2019ve got to walk through the party carrying your Academy Award.’<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI said, \u2018That just feels like gloating, and it doesn\u2019t feel humble.\u2019 Like, what? You can\u2019t walk through carrying the award! That feels really inappropriate. They\u2019re like, \u2018That\u2019s what you do.\u2019 <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo I literally walked in, carried it around, was completely overwhelmed, emotional, shaking, and I didn\u2019t enjoy it,\u201d she said. \u201cI was almost apologetic, which is so stupid. I wish I could have enjoyed it more.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nNicole also recalled her conflicting feelings about her life at the time.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cI was struggling with things in my personal life, yet my professional life was going so well. That\u2019s what happens, right?\u201d<\/p>\n
